It is one of a kind, definitely to be experienced. It is the high end hotel in the region, though it may change in the near future with several new constructions going on.

The hotel is impressing, the decoration of rooms are wonderful. The personal does not have a good level of English language and is difficult to communicate. Breakfast is wonderful because it has windows to a forest...The personal is kind and nice. The Jiuzhaigou park is the most beautiful you can ever see...staying in this hotel is perfect for this visit. Try to stay at least 2 nights.

It's considered to be the best hotel in the area. The view from the hotel and amenities are super amazing. Even tho its far from the airport and far from most of the tourist spots, you can still have an awesome stay here.

In a wood, very quiet location. Very nice design and structure, especially the huge beautiful outdoor garden with glass roof. However, it is very badly maintained. The room is dirty, especially the bathroom is filthy. The air con doesn't work, even open the patio door at night, the cool air doesn't really cool down the room and the air is stuffy.

This must be the worst hotel I have ever stayed before. The service is very bad throughout everywhere in this large hotel! Upon arriving at hotel doorstep, male staff (doorman, porter) could not be bothered to help with our luggage nor welcome greeting nor simple guidance to the concierge. On morning of check out, called reception to ask for porter help with luggage from room, were told no staff available. At check-out counter only one staff struggling to attend to guests. She looked so tired and could not be bothered to answer questions from hotel guests. Standard of food and service at restaurants poor and real disappointment after a great day of sightseeing outside. Especially the Chinese restaurant which serves the tasteless and pathetic looking duck soup (to be exact, scraps-of-duck bone soup) at Rmb500 plus is a real rip off. I really regret booking 3 nights stay in this hotel. The experience is so bad I probably will never book another InterContinental Hotel again.

It was a disappointed stay comparing to other Intercontinental Hotel I stay before. The condition of the room is very run down. Next, upon my checking, I show the receptionist and the supervisor my confirmation with Hotel.com, the room is totally paid. They have taken 4 days not able to verify. And ask me to verify with the agent instead. This is totally not accepted. Told the Duty Manager 19 Oct. that I refuse to pay, they have to verify. I left the hotel, however they call me up, and confirm the room is paid.

Large room has a separate lounge area a few steps down from sleeping area and balcony. Large window with forest view. Lovely Tibetan decor low key luxury. bath has shower only. The hotel has spa pool w paid entrance. Buffet has many choices. The main area is noisy with many stores shopping stands, even though it's location is kind of isolated but it is self contained with. Small grocery and clothing store. The only thing I don't like is the high brocasting song in almost all the common areas. Too noisy for my taste. Room is my best resting place, down comforter very comfortable. It was a bit hard to locate the Checkin counter, not obvious. Staff are all very Friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Our flight was delayed 6 hours. One tip is don't prepay at orbitz. If the payment is due at hotel then the hotel can delete the stay. If it is prepaid at orbitz then it is up to orbitz. But the booking was not cancel able till 48 hr before arrival. So we could lose the night if we could arrive. The flight to jiuzhaigou airport is frequently delay or pull back due to weather condition. Mid day flight is usually more reliable.

Brilliant building in a spectacular mountain setting with lovely rooms. The standard of English in the hotel staff was poor to non-existant. We went with my son who speaks excellent Chinese and without whom we would have been stranded. Our first bedroom toilet was blocked so we changed room but nobody told anyone so we were accused of being in the wrong room. The hotel would not let me use my credit card to post bills to my room so we paid cash. The air on did not function in any of the three rooms we had. Lights didn't work and the cleaning staff were hopeless. Plastic bags and crisps under the sofa cushions and black mouldy shower mats. Vacuum cleaners are not used except in severe cases so the rooms are not clean under foot. The breakfasts were good though the bar/restaurant food was poor. The Sichuan restaurant food was unreservedly exquisite but no order there was delivered correctly. The hotel is 13 miles from Jiuzhaigou park and the traffic through the town is chaotic. The taxi arranged for the return fare to the park was 150 Kwai and the airport 40 miles away was 260. We though both of these quite reasonable. We loved the area and all of the Tibetan influence. The hotel was a brilliant design and with accomplished staff would be brilliant. After initial disappointment we still had a good time and finding somewhere better in the area would be hard.

This hotel sits inside a huge glass dome, what makes it incredible with the snow and mountain views around. The problem is that the area was extremely cold when we visited and the hotel area wasn't heated (prob impossible as its a huge glass dome) and it was a nightmare. Hysterically cold, the restaurants are freezing which some people may think as part of the experience, for me it was a nightmare. Personally, I wouldn't go there in winter time.

Overall, the property is beautiful. However, they need to improve on both housekeeping and room service. Our food came luke warm/cold.

I came to JiuZhaiGou to go to the National Park -- which is great, BTW, and is probably why most people come to this area of China. The problem is that the Park is at some distance from the airport, so the obvious choice is either to stay near the park or near the airport. As I often do, I went to Hotels.com to book a room. Only two were listed, and I chose this one, because the blurbs made me think it was near the airport ("airport shuttle", etc.); it's not. In fact, I do not know why a hotel would be located where this one is, convenient to neither the park nor the airport -- except that this hotel is a "resort", meaning, presumably, that there's stuff to do on the premises. There's not, except for a swimming pool, and three or four very mediocre restaurants. Hotels.com should sign up a couple more hotels either near the park or on the way from the airport. (Also, because GoogleMaps, along with all other Google things, is blocked in China, I could not find accurate and useful information about the locations.)

Hotel is pleasant but even in June is was very cold in the restaurants. Food was mediocre especially given the price but there is little choice available nearby. Quality of food at breakfast was poor even Chinese selections. Dinner buffet not much better Nice job with garden interiors;very large hotel. Excellent massage. Great views of snow capped mountains.

The hotel is set back from the road quite a bit, you would not know that it's there. It would have been nice to have clearly marked trails for visitors to walk around the vicinity of the hotel, for example down to the shallow lake by the road, but there appears to be none, and the assumption is that people are transported around by vehicles.

Bad things: First, breakfast is bad. There is no table setting. We have to ambush a server in order to get clean utensils. Food is nowhere near the western standard for a 4-star hotel breakfast. I can see that the hotel tries to cater to the Chinese taste, but the food does not meet the Chinese standard either. Second, there is no good dining choices in the hotel. Since the hotel is located remotely, dining at the hotel seems to be the only choice. However, none of the restaurant is good. The soup at the Sichuan restaurant is not freshly made. The dinner buffet is overpriced. We had wine at the hotpot place, but the waitress only poured us a layer of wine in the glass. Have to be that stingy? We had to leave in the early morning on our last day, so we requested breakfast to-go. Guess what is in the box? A cold cheese sandwich, a mini muffin, cold bread, a milk, and an old orange. Third, the lack of training. When we checked in, none of the staff at the reception greeted us. They were minding their own businesses behind the counter. At other locations, staff are using Wechat on their phones at work. The staff at the buffet place double-charged our bill. People cut the queue in the reception and no one stepped in. This goes on and on. Fourth, poor facilities. Good luck on getting wifi connection at 8PM. No TV signal in the early morning and late evening. Wrong english translation in the elevator. When did people from IC pay their last visit to this hotel?

Enjoy the stay! However I am surprised that broken bowls & plates are served in their restaurants! The food served over breakfast and room services are cold... Do improve in the dining.

The hotel is very nice, it has great views and good size rooms. However, the rooms were dirty. My kids room had a very dirty carpet, very obvious that it had not been vacuumed. In our room, the bathroom was disgusting. The wall near the toilet was stained, the trim around the bathroom's mirror had old stains of toothpaste. Very dirty bathroom. The breakfast buffet had a small selection of western food, but if you like Chinese food for breakfast, there is plenty of that.

The hotel was extremely cold (except for the rooms). You do not expect to get to your hotel tired and with very nice installations but cannot walk around and really enjoy because it is as cold as if you were outside!. The hot prsing should not be charge. The stores were over expensive. The hotel is very nice and rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Love the shows, although again could not stay and watch them all because I was cold. At the end I expect to get my 4 layers and jackets when I walk in my hotel and relax. The rest was very good including the food. (LOVE HOT POT!)

Located in the woods of Jiuzhaigou, you breathe the stunning air of the thousand-year forest right from the balcony of your room. The air and surroundings are absolutely amazing. The hotel is a 30 min drive from the entrance of Jiuzhaigou national Park, which is absolutely gorgeous! Be sure to visit the free shows in the enormous hall of the hotel, which contains a garden and some swans and ducks.

A beautiful facility but there were 2 things that made no sense to us. Even after providing our credit card as a security deposit (the room was already paid for through Expedia), the restaurants would not let us charge meals to our room number. This was most annoying. The hotel has a beautiful pool, hot tub area and saunas but the pricing makes no sense--128 yuan per person per day. just to go swimming or sit in the hot tub. As a consequence when we used it, there was only one other user. The fee should either be half that or the room rate should be a bit higher and include it as most other fine hotels. The above 2 things tell me that this hotel is mis-managed.
