Great room size. Excellent value for money. Good breakfast. Nice public areas. Beds perhaps need an upgrade but ok for a couple of nights. Excellent location for visiting family

It was a couple - why did you ask me about a high chair? It had its own car park, why did you point me towards ‘street parking’? There may have been a ‘damp’ problem, because they had lots of ‘smelly plug-ins’, not good for ‘asthmatics’!

Checked in room fine.. clean tidy. No hot water, used health suite very good. No hot water in room, couldn’t use shower. Could not call reception using room phone. Did not work Went downstairs for drinks, a private party was on. More than 40 teenagers running (literally) up and down stairwells, around corridors, hanging in bar area, 13/14 year olds vaping, swearing drunk and falling over. Watched grown men sniffing white stuff in toilets, Bar ran out of vodka 10:30pm Returned to our room, followed by drunk teenagers still running round hotel. Loud agressive arguing from adults outside in car park. Hot water still not working! So we went to bed. Loud rap music played relentlessly under our room until 11:30pm.. just when it went quiet loud bags started. Initially though it was fireworks, looked out window - nothing. They concerned it was gun shots as coincided with some screams. Turned out staff were bursting a balloon arch in the party room popping balloons 1 by 1 at midnight!! Unbelievable Next morning we needed a shower no hot water. Called reception from mobile phone, to be told no maintenance people in until next day. Asked if we could use a different shower. Was told “I’m not allowing you into another room just to shower!” 24 hrs, no way of washing Breakfast. Hot drink machine not working. Very young boy in charge of checking into dining room. Asked if we wanted tea, said yes but then bought it to us with 2 sugars and milk already in mug, coffee machine broken

hotel a bit dated - door key failed every day - no lighting in car park made parking and walking to car difficult - you can tell it was once very nive, but needs some renovations and TLC

Quietly situated hotel. Good breakfasts especially when plated to order (over Christmas). Deluxe bedroom (222) very dated, especially bathroom. Corridor suffocatingly warm despite radiator being turned off (underfloor heating?). Entrance and public areas well presented, some staff friendlier than others. Housekeeping lady (originally from Hungary) deserves special praise; reception staff a bit frosty. No functioning lifts in hotel, although assistance offered on arrival. Hotel previously used by Home Office to house asylum seekers although most I believe have now moved on from the area. Rooms do not smell fresh, some above kitchen and others overlook refuse area to rear of hotel. Not sure if I will return.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, our bed was very comfy, and the breakfast spread was varied and delicious. Unfortunately on arrival we were greeted with litter in the parking lot which is a terrible first impression. Shame on the person who chose to throw their rubbish out where they parked, instead of putting it in the bin, merely steps away. We would book another stay.

Disappointed. We were woken up at 11.35 by drunken party goers who made noise in the corridor until around 1am. The cooked breakfast was cold, despite the hot lamp. The leisure facilities closed as we arrived and did not open until 8.30am.

Hotel since opening to public after migrants leaving have not spent any money to put it back to standard. No lights in car park dreadful at nighttime. No lifts working. Staircase are lacking fire signs and which direction rooms are in. No fan working in bathroom, shower needs maintenance going from cold to boiling hot. Double gazed windows need replacing as do not shut properly. If you want cheap go with them otherwise avoid

Sad to say the stay was not good. I don't usually have to leave a bad review as I will usually over look any issues but not in this case. We arrived to find out the spa was not available and no working lifts. I had booked this 2 night stay for my husbands birthday and the main reason was for the spa. No effort to contact us before arrival to let us know. The hotel room does need a bit of a tidy up but otherwise ok no water available so had to ask for jugs. Bath and shower ok other than the leaking shower head. The room had a balcony which we'd asked for thank goodness as it was hotter than the centre of the earth in there with no ability to alter the temperature! We had to sleep with the balcony door open all night! Bed also very uncomfortable with hard pillows. Restaurant food was good as was breakfast. The spa was open the second day so that was good but by then my husband wasn't bothered but I used it. Ok hotel for 1 night I'd say but only if you like to sweat constantly. Shame really.

Nice reception team when I arrived. It’s a big hotel with not too many staff. Wonder if they’re quite stretched, but good service. Building overall tired and shows signs of damp/crumbling in places but clean and general maintenance alright. Bathrooms seem new and they’re nice. Be warned, no lifts…so be prepared to puff your case up a few flights if you’re on the top floor.
