The Apple House

There was nothing to dislike about the Apple House. It was welcoming and friendly, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. If I need to stay in a York hotel again, I would choose the Apple House.

So welcoming and helpful from checking in to checking out. Breakfast was delicious and bed was really comfortable. Parking at the rear was really good and safe. Danielle was just lovely and even let me use her fridge to store the cheeses i bought at the market. Thanks for a lovely stay

An excellent place to stay when visiting York, can walk into York for restaurants, sightseeing, and shops. We were made very welcome, brilliant breakfast and lovely room with very comfortable bed

Friendly hotel only 5 minutes walk from the city centre. Lovely welcome, beautiful breakfast, great selection of teas and coffees in the room. Car park extremely handy too.

Staff were lovely, booked at short notice and staff were excellent. Room was great and the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely guest house within walking distance of York city centre. Also has its own carpark.

Rooms were clean & well appointed. Bathrooms dated. Shower very small with a massive overhead showerhead. Breakfast fantastic, polite staff & great location. Would recommend.

Perfect for what we needed would definitely stay again lovely place

Room was lovely had everything we needed, bed comfy had 2 nights where i slept like a log breakfast was yummy and guesthouse owners were friendly and helpful will definitely stay here again when we come to York and only 10 minutes to the center of York

I've always wanted to stay here but haven’t been able to because its always been full. Having now stayed there, I understand why as this place is excellent. We received a very friendly welcome. The communal areas and room were spotless. The hotel is quiet - it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Bed comfortable, bedding clean, bathroom spotless. Tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, and kettle in the room. Central heating worked well and the room was cosy. Good pressure from the shower. Breakfast was appealing and tasty. Very reasonable peice and the location convenient for city centre and railway station. Can't fault a thing about this place and hope to be able to stay again soon!

Can easily walk into York from it, lovely owners, handy for the railway station but our room could do with a bit of TLC.

The owner Danielle was very welcoming on arrival. We were able to check in early which was very helpful. The breakfast and options were delicious. Rooms were very comfortable and clean though a little tired. Location is spot on for York station and walking to and from town centre. We would happily stay again.

Very lovely, cosy stay. The owners are very kind and welcoming and a great place to stay for a short getaway. The breakfast was also very nice and I was able to get a vegetarian option.

Our stay at Apple House was truly exceptional! The hospitality was outstanding, and the breakfasts served each morning were absolutely delicious. To be honest, this bed and breakfast surpassed any four-star hotel we’ve stayed at in England. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the railway station, which made everything so convenient and within easy reach. Highly recommend staying here!

A really lovely, clean and quiet hotel. Lovely people, spotless and with an amazing breakfast! 15 min slow walk into the centre of York but the bus stops right outside too!

The staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delightful and great portions. The room was lovely, clean and well stocked. Towels were pretty small and the washing up facilities weren’t great with our little kitchen area is the only slight critique. Great location, little walk to loads of good spots and super convenient for the train station. Trains are quite loud, but we did have the window open and it is very close so kind of can’t get away from that.
