Lovely older style hotel. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast was great with many choices and the waitress was super friendly. Room was clean and comfy. We enjoyed our one night stay.

Its a lovely clean well decorated hotel , the staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and the breakfast option were very good..
I know its an old and historic hotel and because of this I am not sure if its a listed building but it really could do with a lift for the disabled/people with balance issue.

Great place to stay, feels like a family run place and all staff are lovely. Several of us travelled to Waterloo to stop for a family party. We were looked after very well and enjoyed a walk down to the water front.

We had a really nice stay here. The hotel was good - the staff were really helpful and friendly - the breakfast was very good - nice relaxed bar. The hotel location is perfect for walking to the Anthony Gormley statues. The hotel is also only 5 minutes walk to the station from where there are trains every 15 minutes to central Liverpool and trains every 15 minutes to Formby/Southport. Also trains to Sandhills if you are going to either of the football stadia (Soccerbus from Sandhills, great service). In 4 days we didn't use our car once as the transport links are so easy. The hotel is also very historic itself (200 years old, Grade 2 listed). We had a great break and hope to stay in the same hotel again.

Trip to attend a wedding, hotel would not be our normal choice, but location was perfect.
Definitely dated, but still in very good conditions, comfy beds and such lovely people. Breakfast lovely and perfect for parking and vicinity to beach.

we stayed here for 2 nights, from check in to checking out everything was great. The staff were welcoming and really helpful, the breakfast / food was lovely and the beds were really comfy. Would recommend this place 😊

The hotel is nice enough. The bar is a little dated. Bed was comfortable. There is a bullet hole in the bathroom window (yes, really). The bathroom was down some perillous stairs. All in all this is a comfortable hotel.
