AJ Resort Island Ikeijima

The room is terribly stinky. AC not working in room. Waited a long time for them to make arrangement to switch room. Most hotel staffs do not speak English at all. Nothing much to do at the resort. Very disappointed.

All of the staff was very nice! The room was great with a nice view. They had a rec room that we would play ping pong in most nights and the buffet in the evening was very good. The pool area was very pretty with the clean close by.

They have pretty much everything to enjoy your stay! It was too hot in the lobby. But we had a great time there! I would recommend the hotel!

It was a nice hotel with pool. But the animals not available and communication could be better. The food was good. Some entertainment was nice. We had ants in our room and the bathroom was cleaning good.

Good for families with children as they have many activities. Nice view, big room,private secret beach nearby. Breakfast not so good. Reception speak only Japanese. Lots of facilities closed in winter. No indoor activities to do. Located at the end of small island so no convenience stores nearby at all. We headed out to the downtown for dinner but when we got back around 11pm, the entrance was blocked so we had to move the blocks away to drive into the resort.(No reminder at check-in) The way to the resort is very dark without street lights. Worst is they don't offer free bottle waters in the room, need to buy them downstairs at their souvenir shop or elsewhere...

This was a beautiful get-a-way for me and my wife. The Staff was amazing all of the way around. The Hot Bowl Taco Rice was incredible at Hibis Restaurant.

Cosy place to stay with nice view to Pacific Ocean. Staff are very friendly and breakfast buffet has many varieties. Kudos !

We stayed 1 night during our family vacation in December. The location is quite remote, in a corner of an island, so it is better to have your own transport (car). Also advisable to arrive before dark as the roads are narrow and unlit. We booked a cottage, which has it’s own parking lot in front. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we found some ants in our original cottage, they immediately offered to move us to another cottage. The cottage are rather large, which means the air conditioning may struggle to cool the room in summer. There’s a recreation room where guests can play board games or ping pong, and a free foot bath. There’s also a small ‘farm’ within the resort grounds with ponies, rabbits, goats, dogs and other animals. The hotel is right next to a beach, but the currents make it unsuitable for swimming. I expect you’ll be able to see sunrise but unfortunately it was very cloudy on the morning we were there.

Was good. Okay with service and room. It is far from convenient store or restaurants. You would better to shop before entering the Island

The hotel is located in a very secluded area with a private beach with a lot of sea life. Very peaceful but you will need to rent a car if you plan on traveling to the rest of the island since the taxi costs at least ¥3000 to get to the nearest bus station. Cottages are comfortable and spacious but do not have WiFi. The buffet costs ¥3000 per person and is only good if you show right at the opening time. However, the hotel staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were quick to help in any way we needed.

The place is a bit old but facility and location is kinda nice to see sunrise. good for family but a bit too far to go anywhere

Terrible customer service. I booked on your site, adding correct number of people in my family and ages. I prepaid for 2 nights. At check-in, was informed I had to pay adult price for my 6 and 8 year old ($150 extra). They stated you informed them there was an error in the booking. The only solution hotels.com (Expedia services) and this hotel could come up with was that we owed more money. And the manner in which the front desk and staff treated us was not even close to decent service. They would send multiple people to tell us the exact same thing that we owed money and they would not offer refunds if we left. Irritating, rude staff. The rest of the stay...well you have to leave the hotel grounds and drive 7 minutes to access a safe beach. The pillows felt like rocks were in them. I just couldn't believe how we were treated. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic sea view during jacuzzi.....

It's a nice hotel despite being located far away. Definitely can't make it without driving, but it's worth it. Waking up to the Pacific Ocean isn't something you can do everyday.

Up: Great location in Ikeijima island. Every room has ocean view. Private beach looked awesome. Room was clean and cozy. Down: Nothing really bad about this place, but mattress was a bit hard, and no English speaking staff.

Limited English speaking staff. Seemed nice, but not able to assist fully. Loved the location right on the beach. Problem is the limited access to the beach. Currently it is off season so I am not sure if anything changes later in the year. During our stay, in Jan the pool was closed, no hot tub, no gym, no animals out and about as advertised and the landscape appears overgrown. available food is limited so if you want something bring it. The only resturant is only open in am 0700-1000 for buffet breakfast and in the evening 1730-2200hrs for a buffet dinner. The breakfast was included in the room rate the dinner cost $25 per person. This was the most expensive uneventful meal my husband and I have had while here in Okinawa, disappointing for sure. Also the beds are very hard and the pillows are also hard. If you can bring your own pillow unless you like hard pillows. We were in one of the cabins and took one of the futon mats and placed that on the bed which helped a lot. If you are looking for a secluded place with great sunsets and sunrise and you are willing to spend more than expected while getting a fair nights sleep...I would recommend this establishment. Otherwise keep driving.
