ANA Crowne Plaza KUMAMOTO NEW SKY, an IHG Hotel

It is a 6 minutes walk to the central area of the city. However, it is very close and the location is great. Great hotel and great staff also.

It was very nice and quite place. The staff was super nice and helpful.

Roughly a 15minutes walk to Kumamoto station. The area around the hotel is generally quiet. Ample of parking space for those driving. Hotel room is clean and staffs are friendly

The room was unbearably HOT.

The hotel and rooms are nice. The biggest problem that we had was the temperature. The rooms are not individually temperature controlled so our room was blazing hot. The first night the staff gave us a fan that you filled with ice (which felt like 1930). It was unbearable. The second night we asked the staff to move rooms and they said there were no other rooms available and they agreed that the room was very hot (measured at 78 F); they stated other guests complained it was too cold. We happy said "we will trade them", but they did not laugh. We were given another room which was slightly cooler (74 F) and we slept there our last night. The staff was helpful enough but our experience was miserable. We did not receive any compensation. We also ate dinner at the restaurant and the failed to bring our desserts and coffee with our dinner sets. It was not worth bringing it up to them. They also could not make a Manhattan coctail with a fully stocked bar. If it was not on the exact menu then it was not do-able (common in Japan). If we had not had the temperature problems I would have given this hotel a very good rating but we were exhausted every morning because we would sweat all night.

Three night stay in Kumamoto for a quick getaway. Crowne Plaza was easy to check into, drop bags, and head out to site see. Clean and mostly comfortable; the beds in Japan are always to hard. Location is good. One stop away from the JR/Shinkansen station and easy to walk if you want. Also a few stops on the tram away from shopping, restaurants and bars. Considering the low cost per night, would definitely stay again.

Wifi was very poor. Not useable for business.

The front desk staff might have been overwhelmed for a change, but the forgot to give me my wifi access code and were just not helpful.

The hotel was very clean and gorgeous. The tram station is nearby and it was easy to access to the central town.

Good hotel, which come with 3 beds. Spacious. Quiet location, not much nearby though. Not recommended for non-driving travelers.

Excellent stay of 2 nights. The concierge was very helpful with information. The free shuttle service from the train station is unexpected and a plus. The location was excellent. The room and breakfast was spectacular.
