Our stay was delightful. We visited Matsumoto to spend time with friends who live there. We found the city and people to be delightful. We were coming off a few hard days of “touristing” in Tokyo and the hotel and its staff welcomed us and made sure our stay was cozy and comfortable. The beds offered us the best night’s sleep we had so far in Japan and the bath salts offered at check in were some kind of magical elixir for our sore bones. We woke up refreshed and ready for the next part of our journey. It was bittersweet to check out. Thank you for the stay!

Loved the bed! Property well maintained and staff friendly. Close to everything we were looking for. Short walk to train stain and Matsumoto castle. Very comfortable room.

The beds are super comfy and the amenities are pretty good. The shower is super hot and a great shower head! It is walking distance of everything and the breakfast is a great healthy option. The only down side was there was no help in getting back to the train station with all of our luggage. We were told that we had to walk. I would be aware of this if mobility is an issue.

Fantastic location and clean hotel. Really enjoyed our stay but didn’t spend too much time in the hotel. The service is polite and the rooms are very functional. It is a little dated but still very clean and with everything you need. There was some building work taking place but we didn’t really notice any noise or disruption. Overall a great place to explore Matsumoto. We booked room only so didn’t try the breakfast.

Great location in a lovely city. Very close to the castle and walking distance to the train station. Room was comfortable. My only criticism was that they would not let us access our room at 2:30pm as even though the room was ready. We had to wait around until 3pm.

Great way to experience Japanese inn. You had to take your shoes off at the entrance and had hot spring like traditional Japanese inn, but still functions as regular hotel. Built beautifully with wood.

Matsumoto is a great place to stop over for a few days. It reminded us of a Japanese version of a Swiss mountain resort. The castle is a very short walk away. Train from Tokyo is very easy and quick. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the station. We caught a bus up into the mountains - no problem. The hotel room itself was a very good size, well maintained. The are staff very friendly and helpful.

More old style but very maintained and great condition , clean and just great for over night sty . 10 min walk from train / buss station. Also 5 min away from castle and all shopping / restaurant area . Highly recommend.
