I liked the location as it was easy to walk to the central area of Amsterdam. The hotel restaurant served excellent food--we actually preferred eating there as opposed to other places to eat! The staff, especially the restaurant staff, were exceptionally nice!
The only negative--hair in the bathroom tub/floor and the bathroom counter was not clean. My husband wiped it with a tissue and it was pretty gross!

I’ve stayed here a few times and found the Executive rooms lovely and spacious with large windows. I like the quiet location in Zuid away from busy tourist areas. I paid extra for Executive room again and was disappointed with a small, plain room - apart from the separate lift I couldn’t see anything that was special. Room safe not working in first room and bathroom lights not working in second room - small points but seem to indicate lack of care/detail.

A very comfortable and upmarket hotel in a smart residential neighbourhood. Discreet, quiet, well decorated and well-lit rooms. 'Old school' with an emphasis on this being a positive description in my book. Good buffet breakfast.

My stay was very poor. When I checked in late I had to visit reception three times in order to get my television activated. The manager was unable to and as a result moved me to another room. This new room was situated on the road and i was kept up
All night with outside noise of people outside the hotel.
In addition my room was not made up for night two by housekeeping and there were no visible signs in the room or on or outside door to notify the cleaning staff to do so. The stay was lot for a 5 star hotel you classified. I think credit should be due

The room that I had felt a little run down. I turned up at checkin time 3pm and no member of staff to be seen. I paid through Expedia but the hotel charged me again for the stay. They didn't refund it minus the tourist tax but then charged me tourist tax separately which they later refunded. All a bit of a hassle. Not a 5* hotel, if I stayed in the area again I'd stay at the Hilton across the road.

This was my first time to Amsterdam and I chose this spot because of other reviews. I'm so glad I did. The staff accommodated an early check in and they offered great dinner suggestions. Easy walking distance to the 2 and 5 tram. Great coffee and food options nearby. My 80 year old father visited too and he enjoyed the elevator and safe walk to transport. I would stay here again.

Chose this hotel because it was where we met up with our tour group. It is a distance from the city center (cost 50 euros from cruise terminal to hotel by taxi), but not far from the museum district. Tram was about a 7 minute walk away and was easy to access city center via tram. Restaurant was very good. Loved the outside sitting area where we could have drinks and socialize (smoking is allowed in this area).

I'll leave a review for every hotel that I stay at, good or bad.
I came across this hotel after having a bad experience at another hotel in Amsterdam. I checked out of the bad hotel and found this hotel, and I wish I had booked it beforehand. Absolutely five-star service from the minute I entered the hotel until the minute I checked it out of the hotel reception staff, in particular "Niels and Daniel, looked after me very well and sorted out any issues with my online booking.
The rooms are exceptional. The staff and other hotel guests generally around the building are very polite and welcoming.
I've stayed in Amsterdam 30+ times over the years, and I will never stay at any of the hotels other than this one again. It's quite a distance away from the city centre. 15-minute cycle or around 35-minute walk.
Niels and Daniel thank you, and I owe you a beer next time I stay.

Lovely staff and nice area around the hotel. Lobby area was nice, rooms are a bit dated. Our fridge didn’t work but they stored stuff for us at reception. Elevator was broke and there was only 1, luckily only 2 floors to go up. Otherwise it was a nice place.
