Crowne Plaza EDINBURGH - ROYAL TERRACE, an IHG Hotel

The manager and receptionist were very forthcoming in finding us a room with natural ventilation and generously accommodated us in a quiet room at the rear.

I booked two rooms. One through Expedia. One direct. My room was small. The double bed could be described as a wide ironing board. I’d suggest you manage expectations and don’t think you’ll get the sort of room you see on the website. Staff were okay. Public areas far superior to the room. Would not be happy if I had booked for more than one night.

Extremely comfortable, staff fantastic and so friendly. We got an unexpected room upgrade and my goodness, what a beautiful space! Can’t fault our stay. Location was good, a lovely and fairly short walk to Waverley. We’ll stay again.

Gorgeous hotel in a lovely area of Edinburgh. It was so easy to get around the city from here and lovely views. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, such a comfy bed and breakfast was tasty! Can’t get much better than that

Our stay was perfect. Staff team couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed for the first time with our dog - who was just as welcome as us.

The room was more than adequate what made this hotel was the staff they are fantastic. The food was awesome. I met the f&b manager who was wonderful and made our experience wonderful. Very helpful and pleasant staff! Convenient, walkable to most tourist spots but in a quiet and beautiful neiborhood! Located right behind Calton Hill overlooking downtown Edinburgh!

Staff was very friendly, food was good and everything was excellent.

Nice enough, the room wasn't as nice as the pictures made out but the lobby and the service was great. It's a good hotel, just not as fancy as I had expected. Street parking was possible right outside for a fee, and central Edinburgh was walkable

We loved everything about the hotel and our room apart from a faulty shower which was not repaired despite making a complaint. We had no choice but to have baths throughout our 3 day stay which was time consuming and inconvenient. We reported our issue and was told it had been dealt with. Even though the temperature tap was on cold (blue) only scalding hot water would come out through a half blocked hose. Also the bath enamel was scratched off around the plug hole which wasn’t pleasant either.

Special mention to all the staff. We had to bring our Dog, last minute, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Incredibly friendly and helpful, they are all a credit. Wonderful hotel

We stayed in a standard double room and in spite of being below pavement level it was spacious. Very comfortable bed although could have done with a slightly bigger one as only a double. Friendly staff and nice bar area. Expresso machine in our room as well as bathrobes which was a nice touch.

The hotel is in a great location for the city centre shops and pubs and restaurants etc. it’s clean and tidy and the staff are brilliant. I couldn’t fault the hotel for the money we paid to stay.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Our room was beautiful, although the extra sofabed was very uncomfortable. We ended up with 3 in a bed! Which was not ideal. Otherwise lovely room. Breakfast should have been better, overcooked food especially the eggs.
