I have been going to Pitlochry Hydro for the last 26 years and still enjoy going. Unfortunately the heating broke down in minus conditions but staff could not apologise enough and it was just unfortunate. It is in a lovely little town with lots of lovely walks and easy access to other towns and sight seeing places. Looking forward to March when we will return. Thank you again to Chris (Hotel Manager) and his staff. X

Lovely friendly hotel, perfect for the weekend break or longer. Rooms are large and a wee bit chilly but delighted to see a spare heater for the room which solved the problem. Good sized swimming pool. Will be back.

This is a quaint property from a bygone era that sits well in it's picturesque location which is a positive, however don't expect latest modern amenities. The leisure facilities are a very welcomed bonus. Only let down by the poor quality dining experience - limited options and very bland, disappointing food. Definately an area for improvement in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Had a lovely stay with my partner and our dog. The scenic view room was massive and worth paying the extra for. The breakfast buffet was good with all needs catered for. The hotel is extremely dog friendly with dogs being allowed in the bar area. The singer for entertainment was also very good. Only negative is some of the building is looking a little run down but there were signs of maintenance taking place e.g. painting. We loved our stay and would return.

Have written to hotel with complaint on 17th December but no reply from them at all. They were helpful re gluten free foods but there must have been cross contamination in the kitchen as I was very ill. Had to go hom about midnight as room very very cold.

I booked an impromptu overnight trip to Pitlochry for my wife and I to chill out and relax. Check in was straightforward and we were given a room with a view of sorts, basically a view of the car park and a part of the hills. Room unfortunately smelled of wet dog, it was clean but there was a lingering smell. We adjourned to the bar for a few drinks and then ordered some food, you pay for the food before you get it not s fan of that also it was pointed out if I wanted to leave a tip when I was paying, sorry not until I’ve tasted the food. The food itself was nothing spectacular just your average burgers, pizza, steak pie etc and if you choose to have this option then you sitting on sofas with a coffee table to eat, not ideal or you can opt for the restaurant that’s better seating. Sleep was disturbed by what sounded like a karaoke party going on but unsure where as nothing was happening in the bar, Breakfast was the buffet style with option of cooked or cold food, patisseries , yoghurts etc The hotel looks like it’s had a revamp, rooms are clean but missing a things to do in the area. Didn’t use the leisure facilities on this trip. Would I stay there again, yes hoping that it was just a one off

Very run down. Toilet seat broken. Told it was fixed but fell off again. No fixings. No bed side lights working. Staff were lovely and entertainment a pleasant surprise. Food was lovely too. Could be a fabulous accommodation but money is needing spent to upgrade it.

Hotel looking quite tired with rooms dated. Not much ambiance in bar area - could do with a open fire for a bit more atmosphere. Food reasonable but certainly not fine dinning. Good points - male staff on reception and bar excellent. Lovely walk down to town center. Good bars with live music/good atmosphere. Scenery speaks for itself.

The room was very cold, dated and tired. The windows were deted and drafty and full of condensation. It needed a full makeover. Certainly not a superior room as advertised.

The bar manager insisted in keeping the fire door open as the lounge area gets warm. All the tables in tne vicinity of the door were cold. It seemed to me, he was the only one who was warm. People kept closing the door but he just opened it again. It spoiled new years eve as it was his way or no way.

Obviously a grand old hotel back in the day, and looking a little dated now. Based on a 1 night stopover, did not use the dinner or breakfast facilities, so not a complete review.
