Hitrental Stauffacher Apartments

I stayed at this property in zurich for one month. Overall the experience was good, but there are some things to be aware of that I wish I had known. Check in and check out was easy and the communication was clear. The apartment was well stocked the basics you need for the kitchen and other things like an iron, hair dryer, fans, etc. Because I was a long stay guest, I got a great deal on this place. However, there are some downsides. There is no air conditioning and you are required as a long term guest to wash your own sheets/towels. You must also buy your own toilet paper and trash bags if you use more than the few provided. Laundry is in the basement with two washers and dryers, however one washer left the clothes very very wet and didn't seem to work properly. The neighborhood was okay, but a bit dirty with garbage and graffiti. It's a 15 minute walk to the train station and about 25 minute walk to the old town, but the trolley is close by if you want to save time. There was alot of cigarette smoke from the other buildings nearby and with the windows being open it often smelled. So overall, this was a good deal for a long term stay. Some nicer amenities were lacking, but it is a good option if you want a place with more living space versus a traditional hotel.

There was an issue with our booking and we we offered a room at Vision Apartments- DO NOT RECOMMEND. The apartments are awful - poorly decorated, cheaply furnished. As an example, the silverware is all stored in a bowl, not in a drawer but in a cabinet. Not nearly as nice as the pictures shown in our original booking. I appreciated the support and communication from the original booking but the new booking was impossible to get details from. Poor communication & awful experience. Luckily we only stayed one night.
