Hotel room smelled of musk/mold. We were placed in a room where they were tearing down the wall across the way. We did get a courtesy call stating it may be loud but it was after work had begun. The elevators were not working well and you either had to step up or step down to get out most times. The staff were very kind and had nothing but smiles at at all time. The bed was comfy! There are no plugs by the bed for items such as phones or a CPAP machine, we had to move the mattress to find a plug.

Felt safe inside the casino but outside around the property felt very unsafe at night. Lots of people standing around and smoking weed outside the parking garage and yelling at customers who were making their way into the casino. Our room was dirty with stains all over our sheets and comforters and some kind of white substance in the headboard and nightstands. Room had no snacks and only two small bottles of water and no mini fridge. Mind you those things would not be an issue for a room that was not priced at $200 a night. But for that price it should have been cleaner and there should have been a way to keep food and drinks if there was not any provided. Could not get a hold of customer service, front desk or room service the entire night either.

The hotel room smelled funky when we first stepped in. The bottle of shampoo, conditioner had already been opened and have used. The bathroom floor was sticky. The water pressure wasn’t great.

Entered the facility from the 2nd floor garage walkway to the hotel area. Immediately noticed an off odor, similar to a dirty child’s diaper. Front desk staff was good but the rest of the staff seemed to care less about anything. We were there Friday/Saturday/Sunday visiting family. Seemed like many locals come in for the casino, passed several guests taking of marijuana. The people in the room next to ours had a fight around 4am, doors slamming, lots of cursing and baby crying. I’ve never been to the area before and chose Ballys this trip due to its 4 star rating. It’s not a great location, downtown area, would not feel comfortable walking around outside!!

First room had a smoke smell and walls need TLC. Second room I moved to was not much different and shower floor was not aesthetically pleasing. Seemed worn out and dirty. Third and final room was better, but shower floor was the same as second room. This is an older hotel, which used to be called the Eldorado. Bally bought it some years back and has done little to the property, which is obvious. Won’t be back.

Just an average room at best. The mattress appeared to be older than I am. The wire around the edge had no padding left whatsoever. The coverings consisted of a flat bottom sheet that refused to remain tucked and two additional top sheets with a light quilt sandwiched between them. There were no extra blankets in the room. A couple of the pillows were so hard and lumpy a pillow fight would be classed as felony assault. The thermostat for the room was archaic. It took us two days to actually get the room temp to a comfortable setting. There was no phone in the room (strangely there was actually a phone in the bathroom next to the commode). No clock. No microwave (I guess they figured that would increase room service calls). The TV was adequate but nothing special. It carried basic cable but everything beyond that was pay per view (incuding several "adult" channels). La Quinta has better TV selections. No breakfast was included but it was available in one of the hotel restaurants. We did not partake of the offerings because we did not want to fill out the loan papers. (Just a bit of sarcasm. No loan was actually required) The casino stank of cigarette smoke. The was a small glassed in room that was in the back of the third floor section that was "smoke free". Just a few slot machines and very cramped for space. To be fair we did not find a casino anywhere in Shreveport that smelled much better. All of them seem to discount breathing as a good thing.

When we first checked in they begin to tell me they did not have anymore deluxe king rooms. Which is what I had booked and paid for days in advance. Then they told me they only had per friendly rooms available. They ended up giving me a double queen room. I understand I still got a room but it’s not the room I booked. Then when we walked into the rooms there were no fitted sheets on the bed. Only top sheets just laid over the mattress. No trash bags in the trash cans. And the in the bathroom and room were very dirty. Two days later I called down to the front desk to ask for towels. I was told they send some up. A few hours go by and nobody ever came. So I walked out to find the cleaners in the hall way to ask them. They proceeded to tell me they were out and waiting on the linen truck to arrive. It was just one thing after another. I won’t ever stay here again but the stay itself was not the worst. The food options are ok and the hotel itself was quiet.

The cons at this hotel: no daily housekeeping service, pervasive smell of cigarettes in the hotel, loud dog barking from the "pet floors" (very audible in the first floor restaurant). The hotel room also doesn't have a microwave, or accessible power outlets at the bedside tables. And, the walls are fairly thin, so you hear your neighbors. The pros: central location, a casino, and the beds were comfortable. We ate at the main restaurant on the first floor and it took half an hour to receive breakfast. Overall the meals were reasonably tasty. The area itself has a few restaurants nearby, but overall the downtown is very rundown. If you aren't going to the casino, I would skip staying at the hotel.

The hotel is average. No change of towels or bed making and we stayed 2 nights. The service in the Sportsman’s Cafe was dismal at best. We tried it for dinner, supper , and breakfast . Hard eggs when ordered over easy, 15 minutes to get new ones, screwed up the check on the dinner by charging my gift card for the wrong table. Unable to refund so I lost money on that. Supper was chicken noodle soup, served cold! Waited twenty minutes for the check! Has to go forward and ask at the desk. Topper of all, upon leaving we waited 40 minutes for get muffins. Someone needs to get it together.

Enjoyed our stay except for one incident that was not the hotels fault. Cops were called for domestic disturbance across our room. Cops And participants were loud and it was uneasy for a time.

We were placed in a room on the pet friendly floor. Room 517. The room smelt like urine. The bathroom toilet had stains. And there was mold buildup on the outside caulking of the shower. There was also some “stains” on one of the chairs in the room so we lifted up the cushion to flip it. That was a mistake to see the underside of the cushion. We won’t stay here again.
