Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New Orleans Metairie

We were charged a parking fee even though they told us on the phone when we booked that there would be no parking fee. Shower water was only lukewarm. Hotel staff tried to fix it but it didn’t work. Bathroom smelled a little.

Overnight stay to visit family. Love staying here. Clean, comfortable, front desk staff very nice and friendly. Not crazy about the parking lot charge now but I get it. This is always our first choice.

The hotel room was clean and a I loved having a mini fridge and microwave. Bed and pillows were both comfortable. The part of my stay I didn’t enjoy was the rude and unprofessional front desk staff that was there during my check in and into the night the first day of my stay. They called our room accusing us of a noise complaint from a guest on the floor underneath us. The team completely disregarded the fact that we were not present during the time of the incident (I took receipts from dinner and shopping to prove this) and instead of listening to me AND checking by walking both floors and verifying they continued to call a total of 3 times (once after 10:30 when we were already in bed & the third time a little after 8am when my husband was asleep). I feel that my family was stereotyped as we were traveling with a child and it turned into harassment from multiple calls and a threat to swap our rom as well as ask us to leave. We were accused of slamming doors and loud talking. My baby is 2, can’t reach the door, and definitely can’t open the door. The door slamming happening throughout our first and second night on our floor but I’m not sure of what happened on the floor below us. I was less than pleased with how the team handled this situation. Clean hotel but awful service. The general manager was nice and apologetic on behalf of the team and the housekeeping manager was also. However, the staff from 01/10/25 that worked between the hours of 3pm and 11pm were the worst.

We found out while checking in that we would be charged $5.25/day for parking. In the hotel lot. Strike 1. Is this a thing that most hotels with parking lots will be doing? Gave us a strong reason for not wanting to stay at this hotel ever again. Strike 2: the rooms are only cleaned every other day or only upon request. At 9:00 p.m. we had to go downstairs to get clean towels for a shower, and, in addition, the woman who handed out the towels acted all pissed off about it. Strike 3: In our room, one of the brown endtables (on either side of the bed) was replaced with what looked like a giant black and white bongo drum. Also the curtains didn't shut properly. The silver lining here was your 1/12/25 Sunday morning employee, Tommy Harrison. He should get a big raise, he was very nice, very accomodating.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and hotel room and bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was standard fare and well presented. I definitely recommend!
