Residence Inn Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle

The staff was amazing. The room seemed veey clean.

We did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. For three of five days, we were blocked in the underground car park because the window cleaning gantry was left blocking the exit, unmanned. It took several minutes until someone came to move it. The room cleaners knocked on our door every morning at 9am - we wanted our room cleaned but not that early as we were on holiday, so that was annoying. The room had a mini-kitchen, but no oven. And when we used the stove top, it took 30 MINUTES to heat the pan enough to cook minced meat for a simple spag bol dinner. The room continuously had different smells seeping through from it's surrounds, whether it be cleaning chemicals, food cooking from.adjacent rooms, or one day it smelled like complete sh*t. Lastly, on one morning, the hot water service was turned off for maintenance (without any notice whatsoever) and when calling the front desk, the receptio. Staff were rude and advised it would be turned back on within 30 minutes. Over an hour later, it was still not on so we had to get going and shower at our destination. We were really shocked at how crappy our stay turned out to be, but thank god it's over now. Definitely would not recommend this specific hotel. It should be noted that all other Marriott Bonvoy hotels we have stayed at have been of a high standard, so it does appear to be isolated to this specific venue.

Staff, front desk and service were professional and contributed to a great stay.

Very nice location, with full kitchen which helped a lot (Wegman is walking distance)... Staff was helpful and friendly (F. even offered her own pads when we had an emergency.

Did not have the booked room available, moved to another hotel 15 minutes away late night. Very inconvenient to attend the meeting I came to attend.

Elegant and comfortable. Would definitely be staying at this hotel again. Courteous and competent staff. My family had no issues whatsoever.

It was a nice stay. My only complaint was how slow the wifi was and my data wasn’t working well in my room.

The property was very quiet and relaxing.

They were overbooked, and my family and I had to stay elsewhere for the first 2 nights. It took a lot of time to rearrange accommodation and vacation plans that we missed some of the activities we had planned to see and do in the area. Once we checked in, the room was clean and the hotel staff was friendly.

What a wonderful stay!! Can’t say enough. Randy front desk A , Jesus and Jeannette where also top!!! Hotel is convenient and close to Metro Train station and bus stops. Hot breakfast daily was also A .

Didn't replenish towels had to get from Front desk.

The entry card keys do not work and it is frustrating Wish coffee is better. I avoid it in breakfast Room is clean and place is v convenient

Very well appointed, clean, helpful staff. Suite had nicely stocked kitchen. Hot breakfast in the morning was a bonus. Convenient to Metro and public transit to get around Alexandria and DC.

Our room Was very nice and the free breakfast was very good. The area is very walkable and several places to eat in the area. We spent 2 days exploring DC and it was a great place to stay.
