Brawijaya Train is a passenger train service operated by the Indonesian Railway Company (KAI). Brawijaya will carry its passengers through the Gambir-Malang route at the North Java line (by Semarang Tawang- Solo Jebres). 

Its name is inspired by Raden Brawijaya, a king who ruled East Java during the Majapahit Kingdom era. This train will reach 881 km to its destination with an estimated 12 hours and 55 minutes of travel time.

Brawijaya’s route is the farthest train service on the north line of Java Island. It will pass some stations through its long route, including Jatinegara, Cirebon, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang Tawang, Solo Jebres, and another nine stations.

Its travel frequency only has a one-time departure per day ensuring the passenger does not pass the schedule. It is also considered a new train due to its recent launch in March 2021 to replace the Bangunkarta and Bima train routes.

Brawijaya only has an executive class with 50 seats arranged with 2-2 while it also has reclining and rotatable seats. Brawijaya train consists of 8 trains carrying 400 passengers with its best services.

Passengers will be entertained along the way by duplex panorama glass with blinds and a laminated heat isolator layer. To ensure its passengers' safety, Brawijaya is equipped with CCTV, smoke detectors, and a glowing evacuation route in dark conditions.

It is also equipped with reading lamps to help passengers who want to spend their time by reading. It also has other supporting facilities such as blankets, pillows, a television, a mini table, a luggage rack, stop contact, and a reclining seat.

The Indonesian Railway Company recently added a unique service called the Imperial Brawijaya tour train. The seat is designed for passengers to lay their body with a reclining seat until 135 degrees. A Flexible leg rest and leather chair with a comfortable headrest are also very suitable for a tour journey.

Another unique feature is a minibar, karaoke, big screen TV, exclusive toilet, and luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg. To enjoy this 20-passenger-only train, you must pay twice as much as the executive class price.

1. One of the farthest-distance intercity train

The Brawijaya train is the youngest compared to other long-distance trains. The distance that it reached is one of the farthest distance services done by intercity train in the north line of Java Island.
