Unique Facts About Purwodadi Station
1. Consist of Two Stations
Purwodadi Station used to have two stations: one owned by Semarang-Joana Stoomtram Maatschappij (SJS) and the other owned by Poerwodadie-Goendih Stoomtram Maatschappij (PGSM). Despite having a low level of occupancy, SJS acquired both the shares and all the services provided by PGSM in order to save it. As a result, the railway line was cut off only until Ngrombo-Ngemplak.
2. Merger of SJS & PGSM
Following the acquisition by SJS, the two Purwodadi Stations were merged into one station and named Purwodadi SJS Station.
