Mataram Train
Mataram Railway is a series of Lempuyangan - Pasar Senen train routes with executive and business service classes. The Mataram train is under the Yogyakarta Operation Area VI. Initially, the train, which began operating June 15, 2017, only serves premium economy-class air conditioners. However, starting February 17, 2019 the Mataram train officially served the executive and business classes.
One of these long-distance trains serves the frequency of travel as much as 1 time from each departure. For departures from Lempuyangan, the Mataram train is scheduled for 08.15, while departures from Pasar Senen are at 21.15. The Mataram train will go through about 12 stops per route. The trip will be taken at a speed of 40-100 km/h and also take about 8 hours.
This train, which serves two types of classes, offers a variety of prices. For business class ticket starts from Rp.245,000 - Rp300,000. While the executive class can be purchased with starting price starting from IDR 320,000 - IDR 395,000. This price also distinguishes facilities that can be enjoyed by passengers. Especially for the executive class, passengers will get entertainment facilities that would not be obtained by the business class. While using the same format seats of 2-2 configuration, the executive class seats are arranged with more free space between passengers.

The Origin of Name
The name "Mataram" was apparently used in 1992, like a train on the Yogyakarta - Bandung route. This train also serves executive and business classes. Then, the Mataram train route was extended to Solo - Bandung and changed its name to Lodaya Train since May 12, 2000.
The History of The Train
The train that currently serves executive and business-class air conditioners was previously a premium economy class train. Not only that, the first appearance of the Mataram Railroad was initially as an additional train during Lebaran. At least, the existence of the Mataram train was originally to reduce the surge in passengers in the 4 existing trains, namely Progo, Gajah Wong, Bogowonto, and Jaka Tingkir with the same route.
