Penataran Train
Penataran Train is a local train that serves the route of Surabaya City - Malang - Blitar. This train has been operating since January 14, 1971 under the subsidiaries of the Surabaya Operational VIII Area. This train serves Economy Class with air-conditioner.

Starting from Surabaya City (except KA 436), Surabaya Gubeng, Wonokromo, Waru, Gedangan, Sidoarjo, Tanggulangin, Porong, Bangil, Lawang, Singosari, Blimbing, Malang, and to other stations. At Pohgajih Station, KA 431 will head west, while KA 436 and KA 434 will head east. In one day, Penataran Train serves 4 departures from Surabaya and Blitar.

Interesting Information About Penataran Train
The origin of the name Penataran Train is taken from the name of the temple in Blitar. That said, the temple was a relic of King Kertajaya (Srengga) of the Kingdom of Kediri.
Upon arrival in Blitar, the Penataran Train changed its name to Rapih Dhoho Train and continued its journey to Surabaya via Kediri and Kertosono.
