Blitar City offers five intercity train stations: Blitar, Wlingi, Kesamben, Garum, and Talun stations. Our focus in this document is on Blitar Station, which is classified as a large type B-class train station located in Kepanjenkidul, Blitar, at an elevation of +167 meters. Blitar Station is managed by Operation Area VII Madiun and KAI Commuter, situated 92½ km southeast of Kertosono.
Blitar Station plays a central role in facilitating passenger and freight train services on the Kertosono-Malang branch line, covering the southern and central regions of Java Island. The station provides various facilities such as ticket counters, waiting rooms, spacious parking areas, diverse restaurants, well-maintained toilets, and designated drop zones. These amenities ensure the comfort of both local and long-distance passengers.
The station is easily accessible with transportation options such as buses and public transportation to assist passengers in reaching Blitar Station.
Surabaya has four operational stations: Wonokromo Station, Gubeng Station, Pasar Turi Station, and Surabaya Kota Station, also known as Semut Station. In addition to these four, smaller stations such as Kandangan Station and Benowo Station cater to local economy and commuter trains. Sidotopo Station primarily focuses on goods services and train maintenance.
However, Surabaya Kota Station, commonly called Semut Station, is the primary choice for inter-city travel in Java. This large type B-class station is located in Bongkaran, Pabean Cantian, Surabaya, at an elevation of +4 meters. It falls under the management of Operation Area VIII Surabaya and KAI Commuter.
Surabaya Kota Station also serves as a terminus station for local and commuter train services to southern East Java. Historically, it was the terminal station in Surabaya on the southern Java Island railway line, connecting Surakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bandung, as well as the central Java Island railway line linking Surabaya with Purwokerto and Jakarta.
The station offers full facilities such as ticket counters, waiting rooms, public toilets, and a food court, providing various dining options for passenger convenience. To reach Surabaya Kota Station, passengers can utilize two types of public transportation: the Bemo and the Suroboyo Bus.
Surabaya is famous as one of Indonesia's cities, offering diverse tourist options, from historical sites and natural beauty to delectable culinary delights and thrilling adrenaline challenges. It is no surprise that this city is a highly sought-after holiday destination. Among the areas with train routes to Surabaya, Blitar is a well-known departure point.
The journey from Blitar to Surabaya starts with the earliest train, KA Kertanegara, departing at 01.57, followed by KA Tumapel. The final leg to Surabaya is served by KA Dhoho, departing at 21.40, followed by KA Bima. Despite the relatively short distance of approximately 3 to 5 hours by car, Surabaya remains an appealing destination with a myriad of tourist attractions ready to enchant visitors.
