Our family of five had a wonderful experience riding the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car to Ngong Ping Village to visit the Big Buddha statue. It became one of the most memorable parts of our Hong Kong trip. We arrived around 9 AM on a public holiday celebrating Buddha’s Birthday, so we were fully expecting huge crowds and very long queues. Surprisingly, the lines were still quite manageable and not too crowded at all. Because of that, we highly recommend coming first thing in the morning. Even if there is a slight wait, the queue process moves very quickly, especially if you already purchased tickets in advance like we did through the app, which we also highly recommend for convenience. The cable car ride itself takes around 30 minutes and was absolutely amazing. For children and families, this experience is really unforgettable. The panoramic scenery throughout the journey is incredibly beautiful, with mountain views, ocean views, and cool fresh air once you get higher up. At the same time, because the cable car is quite high, there is also a fun and slightly thrilling feeling that made the ride even more exciting for our teenage boys. It truly felt like more than just transportation — it was an attraction and experience on its own. Once arriving at Ngong Ping Village, there were many food options available, including halal food choices like Ebenezer’s Kebabs, which was very convenient for our family. We highly recommend visiting Ngong Ping and taking the cable car up. However, for the return trip, we decided to go down by paid public bus instead of taking the cable car again, and honestly it was also a very fun experience in a different way. The winding mountain roads during the ride down were exciting and enjoyable for the kids. So our personal recommendation would be: take the cable car up for the amazing views and experience, then take the bus down for a different but equally enjoyable journey. Highly recommended attraction for families visiting Hong
