it seems the hotel's main targets are locals who either do staycations or hold conferences. not a single english magazine.
on the upside, they have the pretty receptionist Asha manning the morning frontdesk with her beautiful smile that is bright than the sun.
the evening frontdesk manned by Ryan was superbly helpful. I stayed in room 603 which had a problem with a dripping aircon. Ryan was swift enough to get housekeeping to dry up the floor and had the evening engineering team fix the aircon on the spot. unfortunately, the IT team was not able to remedy the wifi. You could connect to the WIFI with a full bar but no internet. A simple ping test shows significant packet loss (i suspect from a faulty LAN backhaul). Long story short, wifi was unusable for that room from night until i left for my day schedule.
When I came back in the evening, Ryan asked about the wifi experience. Upon hearing that it wasn't working, he offered to move me to a better room on a different floor. That's what you call an excellent customer service. The hotel should hire more people like Ryan who was not afraid to do what it takes to serve the customer's need (within reason, of course).
i've stayed in this hotel several times since 2023 for the convenience of it (it is across a mall that has all the amenities i need) and is easy to get a grab car (unlike other hotels i stayed in where it takes a long time to get a grab car or worst the driver will cancel after making you wait for 10minutes during pickup)
