Ac is not working they need 3hour to fix it and its already 10pm. I pay the room for nothing. They give solution to us to move to the lower price room because other room are full. Very bad experience for me and my family.

I am writing an honest review hopefully the management can learn something from it. The place has potential. But it seems the management does not understand what comfort means. The hotel is situated in the center of a rice field, not a walking distance to the center of road/shops. The path leading there is quite long and unpaved. You should get a motorcycle as quickly as possible. Since we did not have motorbike, it was very bothersome to go out. We decided to have dinner here, it is very overpriced. The place is beautiful, scenic with rice field in the center. We booked an ethnic vila overlooking the rice field with a spa pool, however we were shown another vila in a corner which is quite dark and scary. We said that this is not the room we ordered, and after some time we were finally given our room. At this point I felt rather odd. When we entered our room (ethnic) something just feel wrong. It seems like they have not cleaned it properly. Our wooden “villa” has gecko dung scattered on the floor (geckos must have lived on the high rising roof without ceiling) the spa pool which we were looking forward too was also stained with gecko dung. There is a gap on the bottom of the wooden door which cannot be closed and Im pretty sure all kind of insects can crawl in at night. At one point of time in the night a centipede was in our bathroom. Our television is off centered so from the bed one of the bed pole is blocking the view. What I find very excruciating is that the whole room is very dimly lit. There is no central lighting which makes the atmosphere very heavy and made both me and my wife very anxious thus we couldn't sleep. When we had dinner the whole hotel was also very dark. During our stay there there was a blackout for 3 hours at night. With the AC off, we could hear all kind of bugs and mouse sounds. Why is there no back up generator for an expensive hotel such as this? Our room cost Rp1,400,000. In the morning breakfast was okay, the bread was good. Staying here felt like a horror movie. During the day, everything is bright and beautiful. When night falls, it was horrifying (mostly due to lack of lighting). Initially we booked 2 nights. After the first night we escaped out of this place (of course they didn't give us refund). The whole vibe is just creepy. In addition, people pay good money to your hotel and they expect that much. I feel it was totally not worth the price.

The place and room are really nice. The hotel concept is cool. 1 villa with 3 bedrooms plus a private pool and rice view. Want to lack access to the hotel, we came at night, a little surprised to find out the access into the alley, passing the rice fields and small times. For the actual location is quite center. Ingun access only must be addressed. So far, it was very pleasant to stay at Menzel Ubud.

I was stayed in menzel ubud for 4d3n as a honeymoon couple. it was beautiful and peaceful villa. 2nd day I had issue with tokek (lizard) inside my room however there are 2 guys came and help us (very appreciate). Unfortunately even though I have mentioned when I made a booking as a honeymoon couple but there is nothing special arrangement in the room. or just because I have made a booking to the third party so there's no arrangement for honeymoon? but so far was good.
