I am deeply disappointed with my stay at the Golden Tulip Hotel Balikpapan. We traveled from abroad and chose this hotel expecting a 4-star experience, but it has been far from satisfactory.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the room was appalling. The sofa and bedsheets were stained, and the overall condition of the bedroom was unacceptable. The towels provided were not white and looked far from clean. Even worse, there were no towels in the room when we arrived, and we had to call the staff to request them. When they finally arrived, they were in terrible condition.
There were no hairdryers in the room, and the water had a strange, unpleasant smell. The bathroom bin was rusty and lacked a proper bin liner, which is unhygienic and unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a 4-star establishment.
Additionally, the sofa was filthy and stained, making it unusable. The entire experience has been nothing short of disgusting.
To add to the disappointment, the reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Considering the level of service and hygiene, this hotel does not deserve its 4-star rating.
I would strongly advise others to reconsider booking this hotel. It has been a deeply upsetting stay, and I hope the management takes these issues seriously to improve the experience for future guests.
