Rhu Muda is a name of a village located in the district of Marang, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is located on the South China Sea coast which is in between the bigger Kuala Terengganu district and Kuantan district of Pahang state with very close proximity to the beach. From the historical point of view, Marang was established way back 1839. Initially it was administered by the district dignitaries which oversee the villages within their own jurisdictions. Then the system was changed with a single district officer which administers the river districts that makes up Marang. The benefit is received when the first district office for Marang was built in 1915. When the British made their way in the 1920s, J L Humphreys which is the very first British commissioner for Terengganu state has introduced a new territorial management system that includes Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Berang and Marang under the Central Colony jurisdiction.
Post-1985, the Marang district was revised to add another two sub-districts, Bukit Payong and Alor Limbat into its jurisdiction. Collectively as a district, Rhu Muda and Marang have always been dependent on fishery as their main economic drive. Nonetheless in the recent few years, a surge in tourism and development works to boost tourism industry have been going on rapidly in the area. This is majorly contributed to their role in being the main access point to Kapas Island, which is one of the significant islands for tourism in the country. People looking forward to access the island eventually flocked Marang and Rhu Muda gets the spoils of the influx of visitors, spawning multiple beach resorts and homestays which are being run by the locals themselves.
People driving from Kuala Lumpur may drive via E8 route for immediate access to Rhu Muda. The journey could take up around 4 hours and 25 minutes depending on the traffic.
There is no major bus terminal, instead guests can opt to stop by the Marang district office which has the bus stop. Take the trip directly to Marang from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) terminal using express bus services such as UBT Group Liner before opting for taxi to go around the place.
Rhu Muda can also be accessed by by boarding flights to Kuala Terengganu. There are flights to Kuala Terengganu provided by Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia. From the airport, guests may hail up a taxi or public transportation to Rhu Muda.

Another interesting place for sightseeing when visitors are in Rhu Muda is the mosque, one of the bigger mosques catered to the locals. This beautifully constructed mosque is located in Jalan Taman Perumahan Emas Murni 2.
This is one of the rarely touched beaches in Marang and is popular among locals due to its pristine white sandy beaches and beautiful sight of the blue sea. Located around three kilometres from Marang, fishermen returning from sea are nothing but a common sight to this beach. Due to its beauty, this beach is perfect for sightseeing and picnicking with families.
