Derived from the name of a leader of Tok Buntar, Parit Buntar is a town located in the northern part of Perak in the Kerian district of Perak, Malaysia. It was originally known Parit Tok Buntar and now known as Parit Buntar. It also acts as a border to Nibong Tebal in Penang and Bandar Baharuin Kedah. This district is known as its large areas of paddy fields, commonly the Rice Bowl of Perak. The economic activity is fishing especially at Sungai Acheh, Bagan Tiang, Tanjung Piandang and Kuala Kurau and commercial businesses and industries in the Parit Buntar City Center.
The temperatures are highest on average in May, at around 27.8 °C. Located at Teh Peng Kong road, this night market is open to public and seller set up their place at around 5 pm and business starts at about 6 pm. There are many things that are sold here such as vegetables, fruits, tea blends, ornamental plants and colourful souvenirs, clothes and toys. The Night Market is also a culinary adventure that introduces variety hawker stall food from different cultures across Malaysia. There are stalls selling fried dishes, drinks, snacks and other ready-to-eat food.
Among the food available here is Uncle Bob fried chicken, satay, murtabak and many more. Visitors are advised to come as early as possible due to limited space parking and many people. This night market is also popular among local and international tourists to experience local night environment with live music playing by the local band.
From Kuala Lumpur city centre to Parit Night Market, it takes around 3 hours and 35 minutes to reach there by using the North-South highway.
There are daily flights from Subang and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Penang Airport and once you arrive, it takes around an hour to reach Parit Night Market using North-South highway and Penang Bridge.
