More about Mandaluyong

Mandaluyong Landmarks

Mandaluyong is a highly urbanized city, located right in the heart of

. The fast-paced streets of the city is very much alive day-in and day-out, hence its motto “Onward Mandaluyong.”

Mandaluyong is a very popular place for tourists who want a city-vibe experience.  Home to malls, parks, first class hotels, and entertainment venues, there is something for everyone. Mandaluyong promises a memorable and pleasurable stay for their visitors.

How to Go

By land transportation

Mandaluyong is just 23 minutes away from the Manila airport.  Buses and jeepneys can take you there. You can also hire a taxi or take the Metro Railway Transit (MRT) stopping at the Ortigas, Shaw or Boni stations.

Getting Around

With Mandaluyong’s extensive highways, cars and taxis can easily go around the city. Tricycles are available for shorter trips but they are only in places where they are allowed. UV Express minivans are now also common there and can take you most places.

Tourist Attractions

SM Megamall

There are a number of malls you can visit in Mandaluyong. The biggest of them all is SM Megamall. Its floor area of more than 400,000 thousand sqm houses more than 500 shops and restaurants. Inside you will also find an IMAX theatre, an Olympic size skating rink and a 14 lane bowling alley. There are also two upscale malls for those who are into luxury brands: The Podium and Shangri-La Plaza. And for those who want a tiangge-style (smaller shops and stalls) shopping experience, there is the St. Francis Square.

In Bgy. Hagdang Bato Itaas, you can find the Plaza Tatlong Bayani Freedom Park, a tribute to three heroes of the Philippine Revolution, Andres Bonifacio, Laureano Gonzales, and General Kalentong.

San Felipe Neri Church

The San Felipe Neri Church is one of the oldest churches in Metro Manila. It was the site of  a number of bloody encounters between Filipino revolutionaries and Spanish soldiers during the 1896 Revolution.

Top Things to Do

Be entertained by one-of-a kind stage performances in Club Mwah located at the 3rd floor of the Venue Tower in Boni Avenue. For those who want a more physical and exhilarating kind of fun, you may opt to spend the day at the Trampoline Park in The Portal, Greenfield District.  Kids and adults can play and jump in their different trampolines. Prices range from P180 to P350.

For art lovers, there are several art galleries inside the major malls. But outside the malls is a gallery called Art Underground. It features artworks in different disciplines of new and contemporary artists. Find it at Balagtas Street in Addition Hills.

Christmastime is fun time especially if you visit Policarpio Street in Barangay New Zuniga. People visit Policarpio to see the neighborhood’s years-old tradition of putting up thousands of Christmas lights and displays all over their houses. Visit with family and friends and take Christmas-themed groupies for your next FB posts.

SIGLO SUITES @ The Acqua Private Residences
No Netflix. Incomplete sanitary kit. Kinda dirty. We also payed 10k for just the cover of the sofa since we stained it (our fault yeh) but instead of giving us more details on how to or have a haggle for a lower price they just firmly said that's the amount. So yeah. We will never visit this place ever.

The Legend Villas
Stayed here overnight in Team Villa with my family on my birthday. First floor has a couch, tv, dining table, refrigerator, microwave and a small bathroom. Second floor had a bigger bathroom with six beds and a tv as well. The room was clean and spacious enough to fit 7 members of my family. The breakfast was delicious and staff were all friendly and accommodating. The blankets were just too thin on the Team Villa and the AC is quite cold. I was shivering the whole night. 😅 Because there was an ashfall the week prior, we also couldn't use the pool. Too bad, my siblings noticed that other guests were able to go to the pool even though the staff said it's closed.

Frederick's Apartelle
The floor was not cleaned properly even after we asked them to clean it again when we went out for a while, didn't make much difference after. We couldn't make local phone call with the phone in our room though it was stated on the description as one of the facilities. There was no complimentary water. The plates and glasses were not dried as if they just finished washing them and didn't bother to dry them.
