— Itinerary Highlights —

Lake Suwa
Sit and observe Lake Suwa, which is located in the temperate zone and is almost in the heart of Nagano Prefecture. The lake is 759 meters above sea level and has a perimeter of 16.2 kilometers. It is the largest lake in the prefecture. The highland is located in the upper reaches of the Azusa River. This location is surrounded by virgin forests of white birch and larch. Taisho Pond, Tashiro Pond, Myojin Pond, and so on are scattered among them, surrounded by the Hotaka Mountain Range, Mount Yakedake, and Mount Jonen. Chubu Sangaku National Park owns this little basin with a height of roughly 1,500 meters.

Kamikochi
See the breathtaking scenery of the Japanese Alps. The mountain is closed in the winter and serves as a check-in resort for many backpackers in the spring. It is a small basin with an elevation of about 1,500 meters in the upper sections of the Azusa River in Nagano Prefecture, surrounded by the Hodaka Mountain Range, Mount Yakedake, and Mount Jonen. It is part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park. It was brought to the world in the nineteenth century by British missionary and climber Walter Weston, and many mountaineers regard it as a notable scenic site in Japan. The temperature ranges between 1 and 10 degrees Celsius from March through May. The temperature difference in the mountains is significant, and it will rain and snow unexpectedly. Bring an umbrella and dress warmly. Spot many wild monkeys in the mountains and get a chance to photograph the monkeys.

Kamikochi's landmark Kappa Bridge
Find the Kappa Bridge, which was reconstructed in 1997 and has a length of around 36 meters and a width of about 3 meters. The bridge is surrounded by the most lucrative neighborhood of Kamikochi, with souvenir stores, restaurants, and hotels on both sides. See the emerald green of spring and the scarlet leaves in the water of autumn from the bridge, as well as the spectacular Hodaka Mountains and Mount Yakedake.

Taisho Pond
Admire the beautiful mirror water reflecting the Hotaka Mountain Range and Mount Yakedake from the Kappa Bridge. Taisho Pond takes on different personalities depending on the time of day, not only during the day but also at night and early dawn. The smog rises after the rain, producing a surreal scene.

Tashiro Pond/Tashiro Marsh
Explore the Tashiro Marsh, which lies beyond the primeval forest and provides stunning views of the Hotaka Mountain Range. It may get cold quickly after the mountain climbing season begins, but in early June, fresh greens shimmer, and orange lizards bloom. The shade gradually shifts after summer, and by fall, the entire scene is golden. Before the mountain climbing season ends in November, the frost will return, turning the landscape white and sparkling.

Tateyama Kurobe
Behold Japan's Tateyama Kurobe, also known as the Japanese Alps. It is a long passage that connects Nagano's two mountains, Akasawa and Tateyama. Tateyama Kurobe is also known as "Japan's Last Secret Place." It has been considered Japan's spiritual mountain since ancient times, and it is one of the three primary sacred mountains in Japan, along with Mount Fuji and Mount Haku. The snow wall is open from April 15th to June 22nd. Aside from the snow walls, there are scenic areas such as panoramic ski trails, snow houses, and snow mazes. As a result, it attracts tourists from all around the world every year. The temperature is between -1 and -5 degrees Celsius. It is recommended that guests wear waterproof, non-slip shoes or boots. The ultraviolet radiation is relatively strong, applying sunscreen and wearing sunglasses is advised. It is advisable to wear a thin-down jacket with a zipper for ease of putting on and taking off. Prepare gloves, scarves, caps, warm packs, and other stuff to keep the cold at bay.
