Lovely room, quiet even though on a main road.

Our loft level room was not large but very comfortable, clean and quiet. It faced the courtyard and also provided an unexpectedly excellent view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks! The building is older but beautifully restored with lots of artwork in the lounge area and hallways. There is no lift and lots of stairs. Book a ground level room if you need one. Great location , about a 5 minute walk to Royal park and not much further to Cataract Gorge. There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance. I would stay again.

Art on York was excellent value for Money. Staff were lovely, and the hotel is nestled close to attractions and a short walk to the CBD.

Older style accommodation. Room cramped with lack of storage particularly in the bathroom. Some hooks in bathroom are needed.

Great place to stay we were very comfortable and very close to everything.

Hotel was very quaint and unique. Room was well set out and the bed was the most comfortable bed ever. We were facing onto a very busy road but no traffic noise at all. Very easy to check in and staff were so lovely to accomodate our early check in request. Close by to lots of dining options, shops and Cataract Gorge - all easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

I loved the cleanliness and the convenience of how close to everything it is. Room was very comfy.

we stayed 2 nights in Dec. there had been an issue with some flooding in the dining room prior to our stay, so no sit down meals available. Reception did offer a breakfast pack (pr packed style) we declined this offer and took advantage of a very nice little take away food option called the Flying Sparrow just a block away( this was suggested by Reception also) I don't think I have stayed in a Hotel with such comfy bedding. Excellent cleanliness. One comment to be made; due to the flooding issue; ;Management might have been able to do an offer with a nearby restaurant for meals. Would definitely stay again.

A quirky heritage buiIt looks better inside than from the outside. The building has been updated for more modern times. Be wared though there are lots of different stairways to rooms so if you have lots of luggage or trouble climbing them it may not be suitable for your accomodation.Very convient location within walking distance to CBD area. Has reasonable amount of free parking on site. A varitey of rooms. Our room was a queen with ensuite. Nicely decorated in modern period fixtures and drapes. The bed was comfortable and warm. Bathroom funtional and nice hot shower. Plently of mirrors. It had a mini bar and small fridge. We had a balcony room but it could not be accessed which was a pitty. Also if there was and emergency it could have been used as emergency access point if needed. There was some street noise and especially earlier on in the night with a bit of local hooning a street away. They appeared to disperse later into night. The staff were efficent and polite when we arrived. There was no ice available to have with a drink unfortunately. There was provision to order a continental breakfast kit for about $15. We didn't order. We would recommend this Hotel to stay at. A little pricey but comparitable to others in area.

Quirkiness in a very nice way Spotlessly clean and comfortable

Loved the superior room,park at the back of the hotel & walk into your room. No steps. Woolworths close by & a lovely coffee shop on the corner for toastie & coffee.

Definitely stay there again

The hotel is clean. The room very clean, but the a/c did not work properly, whatever setting you were on it blew hot air. The area is very short on dining amenities. Overall I was disappointed, but as I said the room was clean.

Fantastic hotel in great location. Was kindly offered an upgrade to king suite which was brilliant for our 2 night stay.

We booked a room which when viewed hadn't been serviced and was small and dark. We rang and advised wotif.com and we were upgraded. Prompt attention when advised and upgrade was great... much better.
