Crowne Plaza HUNTER VALLEY, an IHG Hotel

Very disappointed with the pool, we have been coming for years and have never experienced pool chair towel turf wars. Pool towels use a card system which makes it a commodity. We had people steal our towels whilst we were swimming. Also the maths of towels on pool chairs did not add up to the bodies in the pool area.

Very clean and family friendly hotel with so many things to do

Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here. Very outdated rooms and environment. Previously was the Crown and Rydges has taken over . They haven’t made any changes to the rooms. Staffs and facilities are extremely poor. I booked to celebrate my birthday and end of sickness treatment and the check in staff was least bothered about it. Nothing extra or special was offered to me. No welcome drinks considering I’m a club member. No complimentary water bottles, compared to other resorts who provides this complimentary offer. Other guests were also complaining to us about this resort. Don’t waste your money for this old, unprofessional staffs resort.

Great restaurant upstairs, the kids facilities are great but need to work on the slippery floors near the pool seating area as both kids slipped. Regular scrubbing will help with that

Property was lovely to stay in, we have 2 young kids and they loved the pool and water park.

The good: the pool is extremely child-friendly and our children (3 and 6) played easily in it, plus the water play area was a huge hit. The bad: the daily room turning was not offered, apparently you need to ask for bin clearing and towel replacements, and if you want a proper room turn you need to pay extra. I believe with the cost of the accomodation, this should be included. Rydges is a nice enough brand, but this change (which has come in the last 9 months), feels budget and not on brand. The towel restrictions also felt budget.

Good for family holidays

Very disappointing. Food in the bistro was very poor. Especially the seafood pizza. We were expected to pay for an ice bucket of ice to take to our room. The alacarte resturant was expensive. The concierge was very helpful.

Massive property with an amazing water park and pool for the kids. We had a 2 bedroom and it was huge but when we arrived it was not very clean. E cleaned it ourselves and reported to management who were very nice about it. Rooms are old and tired and the carpet needs replacing badly but it’s a beautiful property with so much to do in a beautiful location. Breakfast is great.

The hotel is in a lovely setting with a variety of facilities. The buffet breakfast is recommended. Since our stay was during the school holidays, be mindful that there would be lots of young children and noises. Both pools are not heated pool. One thing disappointed us was that we found an odour during bedtime, then we discovered the smell was from the 2 pillows on our bed. It was too late at night to report or make a request to change rooms. We had to take the pillows out and clean the bed frame ourselves to be able to get our sleep.

Great staff and service. Excellent breakfast and good family pool and excellent adult pool. But the burger at the Grill Bar was disgraceful. Very thin burnt patty. More tree cover to beautify and soften the building lines would be lovely.

Wonderful accommodation for relaxation. Wineries close. Hot air baloon ride unbelievable.

The hotel was clean, and the rooms were beautiful. The staff was friendly and professional, especially the restaurant staff, who were amazing and attentive. However, the hotel was very crowded, especially the pool area, which was always packed with guests. There were no activities for adults, making it quite boring for us. The food was not very tasty, and the buffet area was extremely congested and chaotic. This hotel is very suitable and enjoyable for families with kids, but we missed the thoughtful touch of receiving a welcome gift or gesture, which we usually experience at other places we visit. Personally, I don’t think I would stay here again, except for pure relaxation and doing nothing.

Everything from arrival to checkout was great

Option to book spme days without breakfast would be ideal, especially when staying for more than 2days. Although Breakfast menu was fantastic, it becomes repeative
