The Neka Art Museum was officially inaugurated by Dr. Daoed Joesoef, Minister of Education and Culture, on July 7 1982. In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak that lasted from early 2020 to late 2021, the Neka Art Museum has made a significant contribution to improvement. Physical renovation of old buildings and construction of new buildings to beautify permanent exhibitions and hold temporary exhibitions as well as adding facilities such as Art Workshops, Art Cafes, Art Performances to advance the creative economy. The permanent collection was reorganized, and a new technology system was implemented to provide information for each work of art on display, with the aim of facilitating art appreciation.
