- About the Spots-

Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden
Taking advantage of the cool climate which is similar to that of southern Hokkaido, approximately 1500 species of plants are cultivated, ranging from alpine and cold area plants from around the world to Mt. Rokko's native herbs and plants. In the 50-square-kilometer garden, these plants are cultivated in conditions that is the closest to their natural environment, such as the rock garden where alpine plants are grown, wetlands along a mountain stream, the beech trees in the shade, and more.
The prized rock garden

The weaving of red leaves in the Fall like a tapestry
The leaves on the summit of Mt. Rokko start turning red in mid-October. Early November is the best period to enjoy their view. Fiery reds and bright yellows look like an elegant tapestry.
Our mountain hut café, "Edelweiss"
It is a lovely mountain summit space with the warmth of wood and a terrace where sunrays filter through the trees.
