On this occasion, the hotel was not exactly how I expected from the brochure. I was concerned to arrive outside the advertised check-in times, but found the main reception was still staffed. The 'rooms' are basically sheds, albeit equipped with everything you need for a stay - fridge, air conditioning, comfortable bed and bathroom - however, the advertised wifi did not work and was never repaired and guests were reduced to sitting outside the main lodge if they wished to communicate with the outside world.
Despite being a 15 minute drive from civilisation, the area goes very cold at night - and I got a lizard in my room which proved impossible to remove. On the first night, I managed to get a drink, but on the other two, there were no staff to be seen and the main lodge was kept locked. Overall, I was happy to pay extra as the advert made the place appear luxurious, and it looked nicer than the Gold Coast - but ultimately, would not recommend. Staff (those who could speak English) were friendly when you could find them, but this was not often. This place is essentially self-catering.
