Service was fine and breakfast was okay. Bedroom was fairly basic. Bed was comfortable enough, and radiator was able to get the room nice and cosy although it was cold outside. The wardrobe was free-standing and a bit shonky though - the whole thing wobbled when the wardrobe door was slid shut.
Biggest issue for us was the shower. It was a corner shower without its own light and the nearest ceiling light was not right outside the shower door but a few feet away so the shower was very dark, and also had no shelf or ledge for soap. My husband warned me it took a while to warm up for his morning shower so I turned it on in the evening and waited. After 10 minutes the water had only reach tepid for my evening shower and once I was in it took another ten to achieve any degree of something that could almost be called warming. The shower drain also didn’t drain properly and the stall, while clean at first glance, didn’t seem very clean on closer inspection - presumably because there’s not enough light in the shower cubicle to see to get it pristine.
Pictures of other rooms look better on the website so maybe we were just unlucky. It was fine for a couple of nights and the pub is nice, but it could have been better.
