What a great spot to stay. Would go out of our way to stay again someday. A little bit of confusion with security letting us in after hours, but we were told their after hours processes had just changed so there’s bound to be a wee bit of a learning curve. Rooms were spotless, bed was very comfy, very very nice finishings. Thank you Barker Hotel & Suites, see you again some day.

This place is an amazing find. The facility is top notch and it looks like it was torn from the pages of a Scandinavian Design magazine. Totally unexpected.

Quiet and clean

Building, service, surroundings are excellent. Person at desk was very helpful.

Super clean, spacious, quiet, and comfortable suite. It is outside of Portage on the old RCAF base, so a car is essential. Would definitely stay again.

Was great place to stay nice and quiet. Nice common rooms and lounge areas. Only issue we had was our door was a little sticky on our suite.

Wonderful place to stay, especially if visiting someone at the airforce training facility, it’s directly on the grounds. Nice suite with separate bedroom, living room and kitchenette. Only negative was the bathroom door was a sliding barn door style but didn’t close completely, so there was a large enough gap that anyone in the living area could see you on the toilet, so not much privacy there. We adjusted and the stay was great! Any cleaning staff we saw were very friendly. Must have a car though as there isn’t much but the training facility in South Port.

Check in is extremely frustrating as you need the email that may or may not be in your junk folder with instructions to check in. There is a phone number to call if you have issues, but no one actually answers it. It’s a great place to rent other than that and the constant vibration noise that sound like a propeller plane through the night.

Best option in the Portage area by far.

The site is so nice and quiet and very relaxing. Everything you need is there in the suite. I could have used a hook for my towel in the bathroom.

I liked it. Perfectly away from the noise of portage but close enough to get supplies.

Everything was good except Internet. Extremely poor wifi. I had to use my cellphone data plan during 3 nights stay. Upon entering the apartment for first time I wanted to book it for next whole week as well but after experiencing poor wifi decided not to extend my stay.

Southport is a really interesting place. Hotel is so cool and we talked about it for hours. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but it sure was ours. Loved it 😍

There was no rooms available

The property was very nice, however the Bathroom was bit inconvenient especially the sliding door didn't give you full privacy, and the small sink. But sharing the bathroom with 4 adults was constrictive. A roll of paper towels would be nice to have there, along with several water bottles to make coffee
