Discover Shirakawa Suigen Spring (白川水源), selected as one of the selected one hundred exquisite waters of Japan by the Ministry of Environment. The spring gushes out 60 tons of water per minute, maintaining a temperature of around 14°C throughout the year. Witness the unique sight of fine sand being washed up from the bottom of the water. Visitors can freely take water from the source, and heated water is also available for purchase

Seek blessings for love and relationships, and don't miss the legendary "couple cedar" where bonds are said to endure after three walks around it

See Takachiho Gorge (高千穂峡) in Miyazaki County, Kyushu. Known as the Gokasegawa Gorge, it's steeped in Japanese mythology and formed after a volcanic eruption of Mount Aso. Marvel at the iconic 17-meter Manai Waterfall and explore the beautiful cliffs, offering picturesque views year-round

Uncover Amano Iwato Shrine in Takachiho Town, famous for Miyazaki mythology. Legend has it that the sun god, Amaterasu-Omikami, hid in Amanoyasugawara cave, plunging the world into darkness. The shrine complex includes Nishihongu and Higashihongu, both dedicated to worshiping Amaterasu. Enjoy cherry blossoms in spring from late March to early April

Visit Amanoyasugawara (天安河原), a site steeped in Japanese mythology. Also known as Gyobogaiwaya (仰慕ヶ窟, きょうぼがいわや), it's believed to be the large cave where the god Amaterasu-Omikami (あまてらすおおみかみ) hid. Visitors pray here and often stack stones, creating a mysterious and fantastical atmosphere

Hop aboard the Takachiho Amaterasu Railway, spanning 2.55 km and offering a 30-minute round-trip ride along a renovated old railway. Departing from Takachiho Station, travelers pass by Aratachi Shrine, Ama-Iwato Shrine, Takachiho’s rice terraces, and various tourist attractions.
