Discover Shirakawa Suigen Spring (白川水源), selected as one of the selected one hundred exquisite waters of Japan by the Ministry of Environment. It serves as the source of the Shirakawa River, flowing through the center of Kumamoto. The spring gushes out 60 tons of water per minute, maintaining a temperature of around 14°C throughout the year. Witness the unique sight of fine sand being washed up from the bottom of the water. Visitors can freely take water from the source, and heated water is also available for purchase
