This historic hotel is pretty basic but its location directly across from the Prince Arthur landing is ideal. The prospector steakhouse and roosters bistro are both just a couple of blocks away. The staff is friendly and there is a security guard in the lobby since this is a downtown area with the typical city vagrants. We have also stayed here in the summer and the Lakeshore view is fantastic.

Not well maintained.

The beautiful lake view of lake superior is superb!!

It started with drunk native people outside and inside. The receptionist was rude. Everything old and smells. Room had no lights. I had use my flashlight to go to bathroom. Whole was there I noticed the shower is dirty. I grabbed my stuff and left without even asking a refund. It’s disgusting. Looks like a shelter.

We ended up having to stay an extra night due to our exam being rescheduled. The hotel staff are extremely kind. They allowed us to stay in our same room. Security staff are always pleasant but very professional. The cleaning staff are always working and checking in to make sure we were ok. We definitely will be returning. The hotel is very close to everything and it was very clean. It always smells fresh for an older property.

Loved the space and location of the hotel. Breakfast was amazing at the restaraunt! Did not like the mandatory clientelle often visibly under substance influence. It is a pity, and not a fault of owners.

Thunderbay old area of town. Every city has its "old area." This is it. Fare price to catch a night sleep and move on...

Hotel was clean and seemed well maintained. Parking lot is NOT very secure and the unsavory characters begging for money and cigarettes were a definite problem. Excellent views, large rooms, lots of homeless beggars.

Ok great view from our room Old hotel needs upgrade

Very VERY disappointed! I booked 2 rooms for the night of Saturday September 28/24 for my daughters 13th birthday. We invited 10 friends over to swim from 3pm-7pm. Upon my checkin i was informed that the swimming pool had been privately booked for another childs birthday party. Thus, my daughter and her friends, as well as the guests in EVERY OTHER ROOM IN THE HOTEL would not be allowed to use their swimming pool from 3pm-7pm. Seeing as no advance notice was given that the pool would be closed for any reason, we were all EXTREMELY annoyed and upset. I then had to pivot and find something else to do with my daughter and her friends, so we took them bowling. They had a fun time, but wre extremely dissappointed they were unable to swim. I was offered no compensation for the extra costs incurred ($300) due to having to find an alternative to the swimming pool which is an advertised amenity of the hotel and included in the cost i already paid. I hope that management of this hotel will contact me and offer up some for of compensation for the fact they closed off an amenity of the hotel that myself and every other horel guest paid for the use of in order to make a few extra bucks, qhile not informing us. I would have made arraignments at another property had i kmown in advance

This Hotel could be a landmark if renovated. Big rooms to be updated. They could charge double the price/ room if it would be refresh.

The hotel is very old and needs to be refreshed. Carpet is very worn. There is only one elevator and it is very slow. I was not comfortable being outside the hotel due to vagrants in the area

Rugs were probably very old. The door was antique. But other than that it was a hotel room to sleep in.
