— What You Can Expect —

Amanohashidate
Nestled along Kyoto Prefecture's northern coastline, Amanohashidate is one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, earning the nickname "Bridge to Heaven." Throughout the year, it offers breathtaking panoramas. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom; summer brings lush greenery and gentle waves; autumn paints the landscape with vibrant hues; and winter blankets the area in serene snow. Visitors can ascend viewpoints like Matanozoki and Hiryukan for a different perspective. As part of the experience, guests enjoy a scenic ride aboard the Kyoto Tango Railway Sightseeing Train, which passes over the Yura River Bridge, located at the mouth of the Yura River. Stretching about 550 meters and only about 3 meters above the water surface, this unique crossing gives the train the nickname "Sea Train," adding an extra layer of charm to the journey.

*The best period for cherry blossom viewing in an average year: Early April to mid-April

*The best period for viewing autumn leaves in an average year: Mid-November to late November
Tango Railway Sightseeing Train
The Tango Railway offers three captivating sightseeing trains: "AO-MATSU," "AKO-MATSU," and "KURO-MATSU," all crafted by Master Mitooka Eiji with a pine-themed design inspired by Amanohashidate's coastal beauty. Take in the scenic countryside vistas as the train travels through Kyoto's Tahara region, as Tango AKA-MATSU Train passes by the Ryokawa Iron Bridge, reminiscent of scenes from Hayao Miyazaki's masterful "Spirited Away." All passengers will receive a commemorative pass for travel memories.
