The hotel is located near a subway station (Jongno 3(sam)-ga) so it is very convenient to move around Seoul. It is almost just a straight walk to the station and you can get there in a few minutes. Around the area likewise are some nice, cozy restaurants. Some convenience stores are also located nearby so quick and easy to get food. Although you would not get the luxury of a 4 or 5-star hotel, at this price range, it would do nicely for a temporary stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean with the standard TV, ref, aircon, toiletries (no toothbrush and toothpaste though), and a fast free WiFi. The floors even have heating which is important during the cold seasons. My only issue though is that there is no separate shower area within the toilet. You need to do all your bath and toilet needs in one small cubicle. But you can get by anyway, just needs a little adjustment from what you are used to. Breakfast is free but the food choices are not that wide though. You get the usual toasted bread, some muffins, boiled egg, assorted cereals, coffee, juice, and milk. Again not complaining. You get what you pay for I guess. But what impressed me the most was the service. Kudos especially to the front desk who was really helpful to guests especially to first timers in Korea. I was looking for some item and he went out of his way to search, explain, and even show me the map where to go. Great service I would say! Overall, great stay at Hotel Icon. Would definitely choose it again should there be a chance to visit Korea once more.
