About

Bandar Penawar is a developing town in the district of Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia. It is located on the southeast part of the huge state. It was named after a famous cape known as Tanjung Penawar, which is about 2 kilometres away from the the town. Bandar Penawar was previously covered with only forest and a few settlements under FELDA. On 1979, Southeast Johor Development Authority (KEJORA) was assigned to develop the town into one operative town. The whole area is agriculture specialized in palm oil. As a new city of rapid growth, Bandar Penawar is now well equipped by almost all public utilities and infrastructure base. The provision of public utilities and infrastructure has been made available early in the area and is constantly being improved from time to time by the Southeast Johor Municipal Board (LBJT). Among the public facilities in Bandar Penawar are mosques, surau, multipurpose halls, community halls, sports complexes, bus and taxi stops, schools, fire stations, police stations, post offices, health polyclinics, food courts and public libraries. Two banks, namely Bank Islam Malaysia and Bank Simpanan Nasional opened their branches in Bandar Penawar for banking facilities.

By Plane

From KL International Airport (KLIA2) or Subang Airport, get a flight to Senai International Airport. The flight will take about one hour to reach the airport. From the airport, get a taxi to take you to Bandar Penawar. The journey will take about another hour.

By Car

From Kuala Lumpur, drive to the south via PLUS highway. The journey will take about 4 hours. Then switch to Senai-Desaru highway. Take the exit to Bandar Penawar.

By Bus

From Kuala Lumpur, get the ticket and ride the bus at South Bus Terminal (TBS) straight to Bandar Penawar. The journey will take about 5 hours.

Senai International Airport

Serving the state of Johor as well as people from the southern states of Peninsular Malaysia, Senai Airport is located about 32 kilometres away from Johor Bahru city centre. This International Airport is built in Senai town, Kulai District, Johor. The airport is now the hub for AirAsia.
