The place is great. It is secluded and quiet with a beautiful view. You have to drive to get to anything, but that 's what comes with being secluded. The pool was lovely and the staff was great. The young girl who cleans rooms every day was so kind. I am not sure how to spell her name, but a special thank you to her!

It ' s cozy place but quite far from other attractions and eating area. Rooms are clean and cozy except there is mosquitoes in the evening. If you have babies I would not recommend. Breakfast are served but they have to improved in menu choices. Very average taste in the food they served and if I were to make another stay I would skip the breakfast package. Other than that, the staffs are friendly and very helpful, ample parking space etc. Good Insta photo spot.

About

Black Sand Beach is the English translation for Pantai Pasir Hitam. The beach is famous for its blackish sand and it is surely not from the volcanic eruption. There are so many myths spread about the colour of the sand but the most popular one is about a giant eagle named Garuda. Garuda was once seeking for some favours from the China Princess. But, her fiancé envied Garuda thus lodged a war. The beach sand reflects the remains of the fierce war and that was why it looks black. Some people say that the black sand is the effect of pigmentation by the iron oxide buried in the sand. However, the truth is, there exists huge amount of minerals called Tourmaline and Ilmenite in the granites of Gunung Raya. These minerals are run down by the spring water from the mountain and cause the color of sand to turn black.
