Located beside the Luxembourg Gardens, the Musee du Luxembourg was Paris's first museum of contemporary art. But even before it began showcasing modern works in 1818, the museum, then housed in the east wing of the Palace of Luxembourg, had been displaying artworks since 1750. Now located inside the palace's former orangery, it allows guests can enjoy regularly changing exhibitions.
