Artesian Spa Motel

Stay here for the artesian pools. Our room was clean and large but does need some repair work. That wasn't why I chose this place though. They have 3 pools - 2 are artesian, one inside and one outside. The inside pool is great, very clean and you can just relax in the pool or spa and enjoy the treatment of the water. The outdoor pool was also lovely and the large 'normal' pool was great. The groundsman (who was awesome), was happy to stop the cleaning of this pool for me and pull all the gear out of it so that I could have a swim in each pool before we left :)

A very unpleasant end to our holiday. We booked a basic room online for $122 and arrived shortly after 5pm on a Sunday night. The office was closed and the room keys had been left for us. The exterior door step to our room was covered in dead caterpillars and there were plenty more of these on the carpet upon entering the room. The carpet was filthy and not vacuumed and there were multiple cobwebs around the room. The fridge was rusty. The shower, toilet and basin appeared clean however as did the sheets. The room was small, very rundown and poorly maintained. At that point we would have left and tried to get our money back but there was no sign of any staff and we had driven over eight hours already that day. A couple arriving the same time we did were similarly unimpressed. Their daughter had booked them in for five nights but they said they would be returning to Sydney in the morning - “we don’t care about the money”. The property grounds had rubbish, sheets, old furniture and other miscellaneous items littered about and appeared dirty and unkempt. A room with sheets stored was wide open (including to insects). After looking at the pools we abandoned our plan to go for a swim. I recommended the aquatic centre instead to the other couple. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough and left at 5am the next morning. We’ve stayed at countless motels in the $90 - $130 bracket, this would rank in the bottom three. All the positive reviews - ?? not sure where they stayed.

The artesian water spas were great.

Very nice to have the use of artesian water :) simple but clean room, only downfall is there was no milk for a tea or coffee

This is a courtyard motel with plenty of parking, close to the town centre. Reception agreed to an early check-in on Christmas Day. Our spacious riverside room, had everything we needed, efficient air conditioning, TV, wifi, kettle, frig, safe, comfortable bed, bedside tables and lamps, breakfast table and two chairs. The bathroom also had plenty of space, was clean and well ventilated. The spa pools are a big attraction and one of us enjoyed a pleasant half hour in the waters. Ours was a family and friends Christmas visit so we didn’t take advantage of the free continental breakfast or eat any other meals at the restaurant. The only downside is that our room, while clean and adequate, is showing signs of wear and tear and could be improved by a refurb.

Kids had a great time in the 3 swimming pools, the room was just average, short drive to town.

The best part of the motel is the ability to relax in the heated pools

Artesian pools were great. Room very comfortable including bed. Restaurant food and service excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.

The room was dirty cob webs in every corner with live spiders. windows filled with dirt and cob webs we could not stay there we found alternate accomadation and I will be requesting a refund

Condition of room, basic single, has deteriorated since previous stay a few years ago. Over four days, no room service, to even check on required amenities. Pools good, restaurant several excellent meals.

We optioned to a higher grade room which was basically very good. My usual gripe is with housekeeping, and this one took the cake. The only things done were the beds were made and a new bin liner fitted. The room had not been cleaned and no new towels (only 2 dirty bath & hand towels). My Husband saw the Manager to ask for clean towels and told that the room had not been cleaned. He replied that the cleaners had sick kids. The kitchen had something disgusting in the sink ( 3 large gelatinous globs). The bathroom had no soap, shampoo or conditioner - but plenty of soap residue on the basin and fluff balls around the floor. No vanity plug. No liner in bathroom bin (just 3 pieces of bin spread out on floor). A very dead cockroach between shower & vanity (definitely more than a couple of days old). The overall property is in better condition than when we stayed a few years ago, but, as I say - housekeeping lets a lot of places down.

The units with the river view were nicest. I think more could be made of this area. We had room 3. The shower leaked water all over the floor. This could easily be remedied by adding a shower curtain.

Great place to stay, fantastic artesian spa pools. Great food at the restaurant, we had a lovely meal, our waiter was wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone. Will definitely be staying here again.

Stayed 11 years ago with positive results. Thought it would be okay to stay this time. Stayed in the dated room that had had a basic upgrade to a poor standard. Bed was good, a second pillow would be nice, linen and towels were in very good condition, thank you. Attention to detail for cleaning would benefit. Beer bottles and cigarette butts were left from previous customer on back porch table. Informed reception - he rolled his eyes. Rubbish was removed upon our return however table wasn’t wiped down. Restaurant presents well. Lighting in tree was great - saw a possum. Service and food was poor. 25 minute wait between my meal being served and my husbands meal being served with no communication from wait staff, when his meal did arrive, the steak was rare not medium, drowned in gravy and tough to chew, not representing the $49 price-tag. Not apposed to paying city prices providing the quality is there. Overall experience was poor for the price. Convenient to town centre. Pools were accessible and pleasant some extra cleaning and gardening would upgrade the experience (the bindis in the grass- with bare feet are not fun). Courtesy swim towel offered by reception was damp when collected. Property has potential, needs stronger management. We stayed at the other end of town August 2023, where I got superior facilities and service for the same price there. I will not stay ant the Artesian Spa motel again.

Enjoyed the artesian baths.They need more rails etc for those with disabilities.I found it hard to get out the f both the hot and cold pool

Room average. Stayed Saturday night. No restaurant open sunday morning for breakfast. Just a tray you could pick up with bread etc to take back to room. Bathroom very old No shower curtain so bathroom floor very wet.

Room was nice and clean. Bed was great to sleep in. Artesian pool was excellent. Reception were helpful and courteous.
