Great location, but expected more for a 5 star at these rates.

Very easy to get to from the city centre.

Reserve 3 habitaciones en la misma categoría intermedia, una de esas tres habitaciones era muy pequeña en el baño y toda la habitación, el aire acondicionado no trabajaba correctamente, mucho aire caliente o mucho frío y el aparato se veía muy viejo.

Excellent choice for in town. Service and accommodations were generous, staff was helpful, property was gorgeous. WiFi was very poor and rooms at the Thistle Street side were noisy all night and morning.

Room and hotel were clean. Good walking distance to main attractions. However, the room was noisy especially at night. Difficult to sleep when you can hear the conversations of everyone walking past the room and noise of the room next door.

No information given at check in re where restaurant was for breakfast. Room was comfortable with climate control, good bed and clean bathroom. Soft fluffy bathrobes.

From the very moment we arrived. A very friendly doorman who greeted us with a smile and was very welcoming. Front staff were very quick and efficient, organised our room very early which we were very grateful for. Breakfast was fantastic and great options. Cleanliness of the room was superb also. Very good experience and would very much recommend to anyone who wants to experience Edinburgh.

The hotel is beautiful. Staff was very nice and loved that it had elevators.

Good for overnight and Xmas markets

Only area for improvement is the in room heating. No control over thermostat and back up heater noisy.

1. Location is good 2. Bell boy is proactive when checkin 3. Room is clean basically BUT RATs are running on the ceiling, you can clearly hear the sound of them. 4. Reception staffs are chit chatting loudly in the lobby. 5. Showing water are actually cold while the temperature is 4degree Celsius. Will not come again because of the horrible mouse during the night.

Perfect location

The check in horrible. Despite 3:00 pm check in and room available, the staff said that he’s too busy to give me room even at check- in time.

If you are visiting Scotland you need to stay at this hotel. It was very walkable to all the excursion around the city such as the Edinburgh castle and the royal palace. It was a fast check in and every staff member was very nice and professional. When you leave the hotel and arrive back there is always someone there to open the door and ask about your day. The room was very spacious and had great room service. I will be returning!

Lovely hotel and great location.

We loved our stay at The George Hotel in Edinburgh. We were able to walk to the train, to Old Town, and to shopping/dining in New Town. Breakfasts were excellent. Staff were warm and gracious. Comfortable bed, thoughtful amenities and BBC Scotland on the radio. Lovely holiday decorations as well. Highly recommended.
