If you want to sleep with cockroaches, if you like stinky smell, you like nasty beds, pls choose this hotel. There are reasons why this place is cheap. PLS DON’T GET FOOLED BY THOSE FAKE REVIEWS. This place was extremely terrible and thanks to this nasty hotel, I will NEVER visit Kauai again. However, the staffs were nice and check in&out process was fast and smooth.

Every team member I encountered was welcoming and lovely! Sad I only spent one night there. Would love to have stayed longer and would definitely book again if I ever return to Kauai. The bed was also so comfortable! Could have stayed curled up in it all day! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Old Hawaii vibe, staff were delightful, rooms were excellent, dining was great with awesome views and live music. Would highly recommend for a laid back stay.

Located near the airport and mid way between the north and south of the island. Socialized with other guests every night in the hot tub. Room reset every day by housekeeping. Great value. Will stay here again.

Cool old motel updated in great location on the beach with the Lava Lava bar and restaurant adjacent. Also a good spot if you are exploring both ends of the island, it’s right in the middle and minutes to airport. Rooms are small but updated very nicely.

Great location as a base to explore Kauai Island also an easy to relax on the property with the beach access and pool/jacuzzi, picnic tables and beautiful landscaped property. Great for couples or family. Lastly the staff was genuinely welcoming and friendly!!

Nicely remodeled hotel. Nice restaurant on the beach. Bike rentals available. Everything was easily accessible.

This property has a lot going for it. Beachfront, beachfront restaurant, walking distance to many shops, bars and restaurants, fire pits, pools etc. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Friendly and well-trained staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We loved staying at Kauai Shores. The beach and location are quite amazing, even by Kauai standards. The Lava Lava Beach Club is a a wonderful restaurant, right on the beach, with live music. The staff are just fabulous! It's not a fancy hotel, but just a really nice one. We would advise you to try and get a room overlooking the pool and on the second floor... these are the best!

Overall we were happy with our stay. We booked an ocean view room with two queen beds. When we arrived they said they did not have any such rooms available. We were informed that in HI you are only technically booking the type of room (ie ocean view) and not guaranteed the bed type (ie two queen beds). This was new to us. So they gave us an ocean view with one King bed and a roll away for my child. We called the reception each day to see if our requested room had opened up, but it never did. Our ocean view room, was technically ocean view if you go on the patio and look to your right. Our room was the closest one to the onsite restaurant/bar which had nightly live music that was very loud and went on very late. There is one guest laundry room with 3 washers (one broken) and 3 dryers. They need more machines/another laundry room for the amount of guests - it took all night to try to jockey for a spot in the laundry room. Please ventilate the laundry room as it was sweltering inside. Our room did not have a microwave but there was a communal microwave in the laundry room. Kindly consider putting microwaves in your rooms. Room was clean. Beach in front of the hotel was too rough for swimming but beautiful for beachcoming. There is also a walking path that starts right at the hotel. Close to shopping/gas/food. Good value for the location. They offer free daily yoga, had a nice pool and free bike rentals. My child loved the big lawn where he could run around and chase the chickens

Wonderful stay at Kauai shores. Location right on the ocean, lava lava restaurant on the ocean. It was beautiful. The staff so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend! Free bike rentals, free yoga on the beach. All these things made it that much more special!!

We enjoyed our stay, but would recommend that some of the maintenance items in the room be taken care of - i.e. bathroom door needs to close - unable to close as it does not fit door jamb. Need to designate an adult pool since the jacuzzi and pool area in the main area is over-run with screaming kids and parents who let the kids run wild .....maybe a second jacuzzi. Staff are courteous and responsive. Beautiful setting.

Loved the hotel and the pools. Plenty of fun at Lav Lava restaurant. Highly recommended this motel.

No upgrade to garden / pool area
