I recently stayed here while dropping my daughter off at UC Santa Cruz, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, allowing me to check in a bit early, which made my busy schedule a lot easier. The room itself was just as advertised—clean, comfortable, and quiet, providing a relaxing space to unwind after a long day. The attention to detail and welcoming atmosphere made my stay feel pleasant and stress-free. Overall, it was the perfect base for a memorable trip to Santa Cruz, and I'd happily stay here again.

If I were to guess, I would say that this was a dilapidated property that was recently purchased and quickly renovated.
It isn't perfect, but it's cheap and the staff are friendly.
The really nice thing about this place is the location. It's a 5 minute walk to Maitreya Retreat, Enterprise Rent-a-car, and Santa Cruz Diner.

Shailesh (sorry not sure about spelling) , gentleman at front desk and at breakfast too was great- friendly, helpful and welcoming . The room was fine except for some irregularities eg. The curtains were not all hanging properly , parts were off the rods which made the room look sloppy and unattended to, the white (soap scum) residue on handrail in shower, gaping hole in sink where stopper would be

The guy at the front desk when I checked in was not professional. He treated me as if I was one of his friends or something. Was he an exchanged student st the school in Santa Cruz? If not the cooperate needs to educate the franchise owner.

Place was nice only thing I had an issue with was some outlets not working. The mini fridge and microwave were disconnected and nowhere to connect them. Other than that it was nice specially the breakfast they offer was really good!

Screws on floor in bathroom. TV didn't work. First room was dirty. Switch to another room the AC didn't work. Switched to another one and stepped on a screw bathroom was dirty and TV didn't work

i don't even know where to start !!!! this was the most terrible experience iv ever had in a hotel stay ! motel 6 is even better then this place !!!!! we got sent to four different rooms because each room had actual people staying in them , then when they finally gave us a room that didn't have anyone actually in it the room had zero towels !!!! the pillow were little hard balls with cotton , the shower had no shampoo , no conditioner or body wash ! the floor was dirty !!! when we told the staff we needed towels they did not care to
accommodate us , it was just awful !!! avoid this place if you can !!! all the staff needs to be replaced i think there is only 1 house keeper . it was just bad !! never again ever !!!
