Made reservation online for myself and my g/f for two nights. We stayed for a third night, after changing to a different room. Over all it was very nice. The staff cooperative and facilities fine and the swimming pool had water; The buffet breakfast was nice. Location very good and the hotel has connections to drivers to go in single cars or groups to the many attractions nearby. We went up to the Golden Triangle and some of the famous temples around Chiang Rai. We had some small difficulties. To start with they claimed I had asked for two beds, not one when we got there. I do not believe it. I believe I made my reservation correctly-for two beds. But never mind. We slept in one bed for two nights, using the other bed for our suitcases. When my g/f wanted to stay for one more night she said to ask for a room with one bed. They said fine, no problem. But after we out for three hours to the Huay Pla Kang temple they could not locate the key to our new room. A slight delay. And the coffee at the buffet came through a modern high-tech piece of machinery that took a long time to brew each individual cup and was easy to spill. The cups for the ordinary coffee-which is what I drink-were too big and the cups for the espresso-which I what I changed to because it seemed less trouble than waiting for the machine to make the brew according to its own standards-were too small. So a lot of it got spilled. And everyone had to wait in line for a cup of coffee because there was only one machine and it worked according to its own program. I do not understand why they do this. It does not save staff time at all because the extra staff standing around in the restaurant area have to show people how to make the coffee machine work and clean up the spills. I do not get it why management makes extra problems in order to use unneeded machines. I ended up going outside for my coffee after eating breakfast at the hotel. I did not get to use the pool-just too much to do in the short time we had, but the pool was always occupied. There are less expensive places to stay in Chiang Rai-and more expensive places-but for me it is worth the money. I would go back there, despite the little irritations we had.
