Slow start on the first day. Spent ages waiting at the sweltering hot port without any information about what was happening. On the final day we finished quite early but had booked a flight at 5.30pm so had 6 hours at the airport! Overall though, it was a great trip. Food was delicious. Manta rays were incredible. Saw 4 Komodo dragons.

The captain rearranged the itinerary and changed some of the places. The last day itinerary seems to be cut short as we back to Labuan Bajo’s harbour quite early (around 11am) while other trips were back around 1-2pm (based on other travellers I met at the city). However, overall I had a great experience with a great bunch of people, guide and boat crews and magnificent panoramic view offered by the Komodo National Park.

we were picked up late from the hotel. please fix it again for time so that guests don't get an annoying impression on the first day. the condition of the room is clean and there is air conditioning. felt rocky on the first day. then get used to it. food is plentiful, crew and captain are friendly and helpful. guides must be more dedicated to providing satisfactory service to guests, especially regarding documentation, time, and schedules. the rest are very satisfied. good job 👍👍🙏🙏

not too good and not too bad, due to the weather, the agency is slow to respond but overall is quite good, it should be more detailed regarding what season is suitable for sailing so that it does not become zoned

Really regret if you don't take this Bajo sailing trip ... Competitive prices, okay service from the start to finish the trip. The best thing ... A very enjoyable trip 3D2N on a boat is really fun ... Bang Tirta as a tour guide is friendly, helpful and the photos are good ... Food while on the boat never disappoints ... Bajo is so cool, hard to move on from Bajo, basically MANDATORY TO BAJO AND MANDATORY TO ENTER THIS TRIP SAILING. OATH

I did not think the trip to Komodo would be like this, I was traveling alone and it was the first time I took an open trip to sail Komodo. Meet new friends on the ship. Convenient ship facilities. All ABK are very helpful. Good food. Our guide Baco was very pleasant and the documentation was good.

Itinerary Details & Highlights

The Komodo Island Sailing Tour packs a range of exciting activities into its three-day itinerary, giving you the opportunity to explore multiple destinations and enjoy various activities, from trekking to snorkeling. Below is a breakdown of the itinerary and highlights:

Day 1: Labuan Bajo to Kelor Island and Rinca Island

  • Morning Departure from Labuan Bajo

Your tour begins in Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park. After boarding the boat and meeting the crew, you’ll set sail towards your first destination.

  • Kelor Island

The first stop is Kelor Island, known for its short but steep hike that rewards climbers with panoramic views of the surrounding islands. After the hike, enjoy some time snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters around the island, where you’ll encounter vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish.

  • Rinca Island: Komodo Dragons

In the afternoon, you’ll head to Rinca Island, home to one of the largest populations of Komodo dragons. Accompanied by a local park ranger, you’ll trek through the island’s rugged terrain to observe these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. Don’t forget to keep your camera ready, as this is one of the few places in the world where you can see Komodo dragons up close.

  • Kalong Island: Sunset and Bats

End your first day with a magical sunset at Kalong Island, where you’ll witness thousands of flying foxes (bats) take flight against the backdrop of a stunning sunset. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an adventurous day.

Day 2: Padar Island, Pink Beach, and Manta Point

  • Padar Island: Sunrise Hike

Day two begins early with a sunrise hike up Padar Island, one of the most famous spots in Komodo National Park. The short but challenging hike takes you to the island’s highest point, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of three uniquely colored beaches (white, black, and pink) and the surrounding turquoise waters.

  • Pink Beach: Snorkeling

Next, you’ll head to the famous Pink Beach, one of the few beaches in the world with pink sand. The unique color is created by a mixture of white sand and red coral fragments. Pink Beach is also a great spot for snorkeling, as the surrounding waters are filled with vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

  • Manta Point: Swim with Manta Rays

One of the highlights of the Komodo Island Sailing Tour is snorkeling at Manta Point, a popular spot where you can swim with graceful manta rays. These gentle giants can often be seen gliding through the water, creating an unforgettable underwater experience.

  • Taka Makassar

After an exciting time at Manta Point, you’ll visit Taka Makassar, a small sandbar surrounded by turquoise waters. This serene spot is perfect for more snorkeling, swimming, or simply lounging on the boat and enjoying the beauty of your surroundings.

Day 3: Komodo Island and Kanawa Island

  • Komodo Island

The third and final day of the tour takes you to Komodo Island, the largest island in the national park and home to the iconic Komodo dragons. Here, you’ll go on a trek with a local ranger to learn more about these ancient reptiles and their unique ecosystem.

  • Kanawa Island

After visiting Komodo Island, you’ll make your way to Kanawa Island, known for its pristine beaches and clear waters. Kanawa Island is a great spot for snorkeling, where you’ll have the chance to see various species of fish, coral, and even sea turtles. It’s the perfect way to end your trip before sailing back to Labuan Bajo.

Tips for Visiting Komodo Island

Here are some helpful tips to make the most of your Komodo Island Sailing Tour:

1. Book Early

The Komodo National Park is a popular destination, especially during peak travel seasons. Be sure to book your tour as early as possible to secure your spot and get the best rates.

2. Pack Light but Smart

The boat has limited space, so it’s a good idea to pack light. However, make sure to bring essentials such as sunscreen, a hat, swimwear, and comfortable shoes for hiking.

3. Bring Your Own Snorkeling Gear (Optional)

While most tours provide snorkeling equipment, you may prefer to bring your own gear for comfort and fit. Having your own mask, fins, and snorkel can make a big difference in your overall experience.

4. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well

The tropical climate in Komodo can be quite hot, so it’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Drink plenty of water and take advantage of the delicious meals provided on the boat.

5. Follow Safety Guidelines

When visiting Komodo Island, always listen to your guide and follow safety instructions, especially around the Komodo dragons. These reptiles are wild and can be dangerous, so it’s essential to keep a safe distance and never approach them on your own.
