Penang Hill was located at Penang, Malaysia, with height of the hill is 735 meter above sea level. Nowadays, it was open to public as one of tourist attraction in Penang. There are two ways to get up here, whether by cable car or hiking. If you choose hiking, there are two route provided which is 3.8 km (journey takes 2 hour) and 10.2 km (journey takes 5 hour). If you plan to takes cable car, it takes 5 to 7 minutes to get there, but however it takes long time to get into cable car during school break. Besides that, there are so many attractions at Penang hill apart from spectacular scenery of Penang that can be seen on top of Penang hill at viewing deck that was built for tourist. You will be able to see many types of flora and fauna once you up there, such as pitcher plant, orchid flower Paphiopedilum barbatum or Slipper Orchid, dusky leaf monkey, Black Giant Squirrel, and greater racket-tailed drongo. Owl Museum

This is because, there are so much of art that inspired based an owl such as ceramic, metal, glass, wood and etc. There is a fee charge at the entrance of museum, for adult it will be charged RM 10 and free of charge for children. This museum is open daily from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm.

Historical Heritage: Bel Retiro Bungalow

Bel Retiro is a government bungalow on Penang Hill. It was built in 1789 for the governor of Penang, and remains within the exclusive use of the government. The bungalow itself is out-of- bounds to the general public, one can hike up to its gate, a beautiful brick structure with an arch entranceway. It was built in the 1800s as a resort for high government officials and visiting dignitaries and became the most prestigious property on Penang Hill. Therefore, for those who are interested in history and love to see a colonial architecture, this place should be visited.
