During my recent business trip to Medan, I chose to stay at the Santika hotel. I was initially drawn to the hotel by its convenient location and positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations. The staff at the hotel were indeed friendly, and I appreciated their warm welcome. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options and the Sidikalang coffee was a standout, providing a much-needed caffeine boost to start the day. However, the positives ended there. One major downside was the lack of soundproofing in the room. Throughout my stay, I was constantly disturbed by the relentless noise of 24-hour traffic and the sounds coming from neighboring rooms. The TV even turned on by itself a few times! This made it difficult to get a good night 's sleep and added unnecessary stress to my trip. Furthermore, the condition of the room itself was disappointing. The bed was not as comfortable as I had hoped, and the towels provided were worn and past their prime. To make matters worse, the shower in my room was not functioning properly. Despite my efforts to adjust the faucet, I struggled to get the hot water I desired after a long day of work. As a guest, I had anticipated a higher standard of quality and comfort from Santika, but unfortunately, my experience did not meet these expectations. Regrettably, based on this experience, I will have to reconsider staying at this hotel on my future visits to Medan.
