Sultan Ismail LRT station is a light rail transit (LRT) station operated by RapidKL and served by the Ampang Line. The station was opened on December 16, 1996, as part of the first phase of the STAR system's opening, alongside 13 adjoining stations along the Sultan Ismail-Ampang route. It is located opposite of Sime Darby head office.
The station consists of two sheltered side platforms along a double tracked line and there is a single concourse housing ticketing facilities between the ground level and the platform level. All levels are linked by stairways and escalators and the station is equipped with basic facilities such as public toilets, rubbish bins and prayer rooms. The first train departs at 6.00am every day and last train at 11.35pm from Monday to Saturday and at 11.20pm on Sunday and Public Holidays.
From Kuala Lumpur city centre, it takes around 10 minutes to Sultan Ismail LRT Station by using Damansara road. The journey from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to this LRT Station consumes about 1 hour via ELITE highway.
You can also access Sultan Ismail LRT Station by any Ampang-Sri Petaling line stop. This station is also connected to the MR9 Medan Tuanku Monorail station.
